Ed Hardy BLACK XXX Instant Dark Color Tanning Lotion, 13.5 oz

I’ve worked in many tanning salons and I’ve used my fair share of cheap all the way to expensive luxury lotions so I like to think I have a good grasp of what works and what doesn’t! This is one of my new favorites from the Ed Hardy collection, although not new to the scene, it’s new to me! Scent: Fresh and airy with notes of clean laundry, grass and a masculine note of cologne, salt and sunscreen. With a small back note of possible coconut. It gives a fresh after odor one reminiscent of laying on the beach with a cocktail in hand. Application and Color: out of the bottle this lotion is dark with no streaks if you’re applying thoughtfully and evenly. The texture is a medium/normal consistency, not runny and not thick. I didn’t have many problems with the application or staining like some reviews state. Just be mindful that it is a bronzer and to wipe your hands off or rub in the residue on your hands like a hand lotion for even color. Skincare: I’m heavily tattooed and would definitely recommend this lotion to anyone who is covered or has a couple they would like to protect. It’s moisturizing without being too greasy to put on your face or behind. This lotion does not dry down sticky, more of a dry down clean formula! Results: I started seeing natural looking color immediately after my first session with no orange cast and intend on using it as my regular for the time being! 10/10 recommend! Happy Tanning!

This stuff is awesome! This stuff gives you more color than $150 bronzers. I can’t justify spending that much on lotion anymore. This stuff is IT! It definitely turns your hands brown, so wipe after using and wash hands after tanning. In one session, this lotion brought me at least 3 shades darker. As for the smell: I read a few reviews saying it smelled amazing and others that said it smelled nasty: I am in the camp of loving the fragrance of this, and it did not give me that burnt skin tanning smell afterward. I will continue to buy this one for sure!

Possibly one of the better lotions available at a great price. So far I’m very pleased with the results.

The tan from this is nice and rich!! Smells good...but at the end if the day can have an oder,but overall....great tan with now yellowing! A+

Absolutely love the beautiful even tan that lasts all summer. Not crazy about the scent but product works great!!!

This is a very dark, thin bronzer. I have a pretty solid base tan so I didn’t notice any streaks, however, it will stain in between your fingernails. I carry wipes with me so I can clean my hands immediately after tanning and I still have bronzer in between my nails 3 days later. The lotion is also very thin as I mentioned, messy, I have to wipe the tanning bed extra well when I’m finished. Of course, as with most Hardy lotions I’ve tried, the caps breaks, I now have dark bronzer all over my seat covers and have to find a cap that will fit the bottle. BUT, it DOES give you a deeper tan! 🤣 You just have to weigh the pros and cons. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I used this in a level 2 tanning bed for 15 minutes and my skin is soft with a nice glowy bronze tan!

Best tanning lotion on the market!!

If you are used to using tanning salon lotions they all do smell a little due to the bronzing additives. BUT please rest assured this does NOT smell bad. It is a great product and does what it claims. It is very brown and probably stains your skin somewhat with the instant bronzers. It really does help your tan last and gives a great brown not orange colour.! AT this price give it a try, it is the BEST on Amazon.

Thought it should be better

I’ve been tanning for years and have used many different lotions, but this one is by far one of the best. Goes on clean and smooth, no streaks or orangey tone and smells good too, doesn’t have that nasty after tan baked smell, lol. And my biggest issue with lotions was that it seemed like it took forever for me to get dark but this lotion I noticed a difference in my skin tone right away. Highly recommend this product!!!!

I would genuinely give this more stars if I could. I ordered this because I read some good reviews and was a little skeptical because of some negative ones. This is a good quality lotion. After I ordered it I read some reviews (here on amazon) of people complaining and this and that so I gave it a go myself. It came in quickly and fully sealed with plastic packaging covering the whole bottle. Texture: It's not as thick as some lotions (I have one where you have to rub for several minutes to get it to go even everywhere) so this one goes on very easily and quickly so its hard to miss a spot. Scent: VERY nice. Comparable to the ones where you smell like burnt skin or coconut (where you KNOW you smell like a tanning salon) it has a perfume of some sort in it so it doesn't come off as pungent. I go tanning on my lunch while I'm at the office and no one smells anything. Stain: Ok this is where some people were complaining - you ordered a damn lotion with 193954739537 bronzers and it literally says "instant dark color tanning lotion" ... please use your brains. It will stain a little. BUT - if you RUB IT IN WELL ENOUGH - you will NOT have an issue. I've used this a couple of times and after I am done putting it all over my body i rub my hands together and then rub in between my fingers and on my knuckles (imagine a spray tan and how your hands look afterwards) and I notice a slight discolouration but nothing too crazy that a little water wouldn't fix. I genuinely did not have an issue anywhere else on my body. I'd HIGHLY recommend this. Within a few hours of my first tan (8 minutes in a standup) I was SUPER brown! I do have pale/beige skin so I do tan easier than most but still recommend this. The price you pay for it here is probably half or a third of what you'd pay for it at a salon.
