Longing for Daddy: Healing from the Pain of an Absent or Emotionally Distant Father

Outstanding book
I would have given it a 5 star but I think that Jews and Muslims and Buddhist and Hindu can also have a close relationship with the Father not only Christians it seems that it also tries to promote religion and I think everybody has access to the father no matter their religion.

Helpful but hurtful
This book had a lot of information that made sense upon self reflection and therefore was comforting. HOWEVER, there were many statements throughout the book that were more religious and judgement based and were very offensive. It was hard to appreciate the very good parts of the book because the insulting parts were bothersome and hard to ignore. Again, it totally depends on your views. But for me the homophobic and insulting comments on women were too much to ignore.

longing for Daddy
This book is really good! I'm doing a very long drawn out study with it, but had a real breakthrough point using this book, whew! She really covers a lot of different areas for women who had no father, or an emotionally absent one, or somewhere in between. After years of searching many ways to feel happy or contented in life, knowing there was something wrong inside, I found that God IS the only one Who Can heal a wounded heart!! I recommend it for anyone seeking healing about this issue.

Life-changing
This is the most impactful book I have ever read. It has changed my life. I don't agree with every word or everything in each chapter, but this book provides a roadmap to freedom for any who will follow it.

Awesome Revelations for women with Abandonment Issues
Monique awesomely described and allowed God to use her as a vessel for deliverance for all women who have struggled with abandonment at the hands of their earthly father. Easy read. Purchase it for a gift for another sister.

This is an excellent scripturally based book for you or anyone woman you know who (frankly) has daddy issues and needs to heal from old wounds in order to live the life God has intended.

it touched my heart, healed me and changed my life
I was so blessed by reading this book! I read it last year and it brought abundant healing for me. I've read many self-help books in the past, I honestly never experienced so much healing. I thank God that Monique Robinson has a sensitive heart for women and that there is so much poured out on this book!God bless you!

Not Quite What I Was Expecting
I am a Christian and I already appreciate knowing God as my loving Heavenly Father. However, even I found this book a little irritating and a bit disappointing. Too much sentimental rumination, resembling a girly tête-à-tête for teenagers, rather than comprehensive psychology for adults. So I found the whole approach to this complex and difficult subject, somewhat shallow. The author assumes we need to be shown how to ‘forgive and forget’ the most abusive of men and how we might approach God for healing and goes on to share her own story and difficulties. This may be a help to some and on the plus side, many scriptures are listed throughout that reveal how deep a love and thorough healing, can be found in our Heavenly Father. This then, is the only really meaty substance in the whole book. However, it IS a book for Christians, or for those wanting to explore this God of the Christian Faith and therefore I feel it’s been misrepresented. Secular readers will undoubtedly find this is not the book they were expecting!

Be warned that this is a christian text.
I had not realised that this book was a christian text and so wasted £10 as had to stop reading after being told that many women overachieve because they have low selfesteme and so overachieve to prove theyre someone, rather than letting god take the reins!? Not only christian text, but a misogynistic one too.

Great book
First book in a long time that I read through to the end. Really life changing, and penetrates right to the soul. I feel a change coming along, and will definitely recommend to hurting daughters or mothers.
