This is an excellent little coffee maker. It’s genuinely small & light enough to slip in your rucksack for a picnic - you just need to take a flask of hot water too. It’s easy to use once you’ve worked through the instructions, and easy to rinse through after use. The carrying case is also useful to stop it getting damaged on the go. The pressure is impressive - similar to my bean to cup machine, and it produces a similar crema, and a good tasting espresso. I also find it useful to be able to use either Nespresso pods or ground coffee. The product feels good quality and robust. I would definitely recommend this if you like good espresso on the go.

A well-made and reasonably priced machine that used with care will make perfect espresso every time - but I emphasise the need for care! 1. You get better results if you warm up the parts in hot water before use, otherwise your final espresso will be only lukewarm. 2. The piston needs to be pumped a few times to get the machine up to working pressure and perforate the foil on a capsule, and then requires several pretty hefty shoves to actually make the coffee! I'm happy using it, but my wife hasn't the strength! 3. Because of 2 above, make sure that the machine is on a non-slip surface when in use - I put it on a sponge cloth on the kitchen work surface. If you don't, then if you aren't very careful as you pump, the bottom of the machine can skid sideways, spreading your freshly made espresso further than you would think possible. (Don't ask me how I know!) 4. If you are making several cups of coffee in succession, then remove the pump from the top of the unit before trying to remove the capsule vessel - doing so releases the pressure, making the capsule vessel easier to remove - though it can be pretty stiff anyway - you need a good grip! Be careful of the hot water that can leak out as you undo the capsule vessel, and remember that its contents will be boiling hot! 5. Make sure that there are no stray coffee grounds to spoil the seals when you reassemble the capsule vessel - if the seal isn't perfect than you may get water leak past the coffee, so diluting your espresso! This machine is capable of making espresso every bit as good as the electric machine we normally use. It's not something I'd want to use at home (why would I when the electric machine is so much easier?), but it's great being able to make our favourite coffee whilst away on holiday!

Bought this for my husband as he works away and in most hotels they just come with a kettle not the fancy coffee machine we've got in his home office! We've given it a test run at home so he'd know what he needs to take and how to use it when he goes away. At 1st it seemed a bit daunting but once you realise what is what and put it into practise it's actually really simple to use. We haven't tried capsules just ground coffee and he's been impressed. I did do one for him with frothy milk but he said you don't need it, tastes good as it is with no milk! To froth the milk you just use the coffee pump and a separate glass/cup. I have put a video in the questions and answers as a couple of people were saying you couldn't froth the milk. Just to note you do need access to hot water so if you're taking this on a walk then you would need to take a thermos flask of hot water with you. If staying in a hotel like the plan for this one is then this is not needed as there's a kettle!

Bought this to use the coffee pods while on holiday instead of buying coffee bags. Put first pod in. With anticipation I tried to prize off the cup that had hot liquid in it. This was not easy. My first result, Only a slightly brown water came out. The seal on the pod only had 1 perferation in the main silver seal. Opposite end was really deep and coffee granules were everywhere in this chamber. Second attempt, pre-pierced the silver seal. This time I did get coffee out but coffee granules in drink. So this was bad. Not tried it with pre purchased ground coffee but that sought of defeats the object, buying ground coffee, may as well buy coffee bags.

Cracking brew on the go! Pretty easy to use with a little practice and once I had read the instructions! Surprisingly good espresso that you can make while you are out. Hotter water is better but I use the water boiler at work, which is far from boiling and the coffee tastes great! I plan to take a flask of boiling water next time we are allowed to have a day out!!

Nice compact design and made good coffee but after less than 10 uses, it started leaking boiling water when pumped so it had to go back. We received a full refund.

¡¡Por fin he encontrado una cafetera portátil que hace un espresso decente!! He probado todo tipo de cafeteras y no había manera de conseguir un espresso como toca. Todas hacían un café aguado, con espuma tipo la que te sale al fregar. Staresso la hace como debe ser un espresso: con crema, no con espuma, tal como podéis comprobar en la foto. Soy una purista del café, por lo que las 5 estrellas están basadas en la calidad del café en relación con lo que puede conseguir una cafetera portátil. Por eso he dado 4 estrellas a "sabor" y "calidez", porque es imposible conseguir el sabor y la calidez de una cafetera eléctrica profesional, con una cafetera portátil y mecánica. Sin tener corriente no se puede conseguir la perfección, sin embargo, para los medios mecánicos con los que cuenta, el café es inmejorable, totalmente satisfactorio para cuando estás de viaje, de camping, etc y te mueres por un espresso. La Staresso ya hace bastante con lo que tiene, así que se merece una calificación general de 5 estrellas. Para conseguir el mejor café recomiendo invertir en una buena marca, tipo Lavazza, especial para espressos. Con una marca mediocre, el café no sabrá tan bueno. Solo lo he usado con café molido, no he probado cápsulas, ya que me gusta mucho más el café molido que el de cápsula. Tampoco he hecho ningún capuccino, que no suelo tomar, por lo que no puedo opinar sobre cómo hace la leche la Staresso, aunque si la hace tan bien como hace el café, seguro que se puede conseguir un capuccino muy parecido al de una cafetería. En cuanto al diseño, también excelente. Elegante y práctico al mismo tiempo, con una tacita negra que completa el conjunto, negra, que combina con cualquier cosa, si eres de los que te importa la presentación, y de metal, para mantener el café caliente, y una bonita y práctica funda para proteger la cafetera cuando viajas . Resumiendo, un 10 para la Staresso, la recomiendo al 100%.

Increíble lo bien que sale el café con esta máquina, quizás tenga algún matiz diferente respecto a la cafetera nespresso, pero muy sutil. De momento he probado solo con capsulas (l'or) y genial. Se le hace 4 agujeritos en la parte mas estrecha de la capsula con el punzón que trae en el estuche, agua hirviendo, cierras y empiezas a darle al pistón hasta que notas presión, esperas 15-20 segundos que el cafe se infusione y empiezas a darle caña para hacer el cafe. Sale un café con cuerpo, crema, buena temperatura... No puedo pedir más. La quería para la autocaravana y ha sido un acierto. Ahora habrá que ver la durabilidad. Yo la habría puesto 5 o 10 euros mas cara y habria hecho el émbolo del pistón de metal (es de plástico), por lo demás, se ve robusta y bien fabricada, viene con su estuche para guardarla... Ninguna pega de momento.

Me encantó. Realmente hace unos cafés cint espuma muy buenos. Se puede disfrutar de un café rápido y degustarlo. Fácil de manejar y al poder hacerlo en polvo o cápsula, mejora doblemente su función. Lo recomiendo incluso para los muy cafeteros
