I would recommend when you buy the stove to order this, the carry bag and the fuel bottle at the same time. You'll be glad you did. And when you get your stove the first thing I would do is find a deburring tool. Small file sandpaper emery board and debur the edges of the potholder. If you buy the anodized pan set, you'll find that the sharp edges on it scratch the Dickens out of your pan.

A must have for Trangia cook kits whether its a model 25 or 27.

Made from some relatively hard plastic, so its not too flexible and its limits for hot and cold are not clear. Obviously this will stand up to use as a strainer for boiling water in the Trangia 25 pot, but its 'melting point' isn't known. It's shown being used as a base on snow for the 25 cook-set, too, but again, it's not clear how it will stand up to cold (embrittlement) or to the burner's heat radiating/conducted down by the 25's Aluminum stand. Despite the cautionary concerns, it works as Trangia shows it. FYI I use this with the Esbit CS#2350WN Cook-Set, not the Trangia 25. Works just as shown by Trangia with the Esbit.

It does exactly what it says, well built and sturdy.

Works as advertised and it keeps the non-stick fry pan from being scratched when packed up. Inner ring fits over the pots. Outer ring is used when you want to keep the windscreen base from sinking into the snow or sand so make sure you do all your chopping and cutting on it before placing it under the stove base.

I like this disc and think it accomplishes the task of making the Storm Cooker a complete system. The disc protects the fry pan while in transport, can be used on top of the Storm Cooker as a cutting board, lid to keep your food warm and lastly a strainer that actually works.
