how well does it (stay adhered) to textured plastic, compared to bumpers made of sheet metal?

I put this on my new Rav4 in early February. It has been through temperatures from freezing up to over 100. It is very secure - I've had no indications of any problems of peeling. I regularly load stuff in and out of the hatch. When installing it, I wiped the bumper down with rubbing alcohol to make sure any grease was gone. There is a centering mark on the piece to help get it in the right place. I left it inside for a few hours so it was nice and flexible. Start at the middle and work to one end (it has to bend a little to contour to the curve of the car), then the other end. It is easier if you have a second person to hold the non-adhered end up so it doesn't stick down accidentally. I also put on the Topzooc "Black Carbon Fiber" door sill protectors (actually just heavy vinyl). These have worked out well, too. We change our shoes when hiking by sitting in the car and putting a foot on the sill - they clean easily and don't scuff. Good luck.
