Overall quality is great! While these are made to fit a HD Softtail, they will work on a Yamaha Road Star. The top mounting tabs line up perfectly with the fender support bolts so all that is required is to figure out how you want to secure the lower rail of the saddlebag mount. I chose to drill a hole in the frame and bolt them up that way. Works great! Not that they wouldn't have worked, but I didn't use the actual mounting hardware that came with these brackets. I was warned ahead of time that with the bags I was mounting, I should use a slightly different bracket, also available on Amazon, so that's what I used. The brand for those is Celomt, Part #CL01004. Overall I am very pleased with the product and would definitely recommend it.

Tip: mount to saddle bags before you mount to bike. Read multiple reviews about how these didn't line up and had poor fitment. Not the case. Mounted the small pieces to my bags then aligned with brackets and tightened. Then mounted to my 09 Softail deluxe. Couldn't have been easier! And they look great. Very happy with this purchase

First off if your looking for a decent set of saddle bag brackets you have come to the right place. These brackets are pretty well versitale to all bikes if you have the skills. Pros- good chroming couple of little spots but that's only if your being picky. Sturdy and rigid once mounted ....very easy to modify. Cons- the bag mounting stud is not quality. I realize that these are pretty inexpensive but never the less it should function as it is intended regardless of price. Although I customized these for a Honda Shadow the bag mounting hole are out of line ... and it is not because of my modifications.. All in all these are a great buy ....I would just recommend getting diffrent studs to mount the bags or atleast altering the ones provided to make them a bit more sturdy.....I don't mind fabricating things to fit so my idea of good may not be yours. Don't get upset if you have been duct tape and superglue your entire life and can't get these to work for you. However if you handy dandy with a few tools then these are it....also the best thing is that they are priced very reasonably....so if you do screw them up you can just buy another set. Hope you enjoy.

I modified these slightly to fit them to a vulcan 800 but they are decent quality

Terrible fit. One of the sides is rubbing almost against my fender I'll have to bend it out. Bad welds. No quality control. Amazon stepped in and rectified the problem. Five stars to Amazon. Have about four and a half to six hours into this right now depending on how I want to figure out the time. I usually put these kits on for people in less than an hour. Going to have to buy more parts to make it work. It's not worth my time or the effort to pull it off repackage it pull everything else off put everything back on. These do not fit Harley saddlebags without changing the bushings and the bushings that come with them are pure crap. The connection that holds the bag is a little stupid clip that pops right off you're going to lose your bags going back to screw and style parts will be here tomorrow

They were a little twisted when they arrived. I tried to straighten them and ended uo finding some Hogworkz to replace them.

Great price. Had some issues getting everything aligned , had no intent of using the supplied bag retention studs & clips system. Once I ground off and removed bag retention studs and removed the shoulders of the studs that that are tack-welded to the frames ,(already had stock spring clips and retention twist in pins.), Had to enlarge two rear mounting tab holes to get the rear bag brackets to line up and figured out that the front bracket goes on the back side of the rear foot pegs mounting screws everything came together just fine . Have not rode it yet but will be fabricate a bracket to tie the two brackets together and or to the fender for stability. If you want a perfect fit and are not mechanically inclined get the ones that are 5 times + the price of these.

Turned up quicker than expected but there was a fair bit of chipping to the paint from rattling around in transit. Each bracket was wrapped in a single layer of thin bubble wrap. The brackets had rubbed through the bubble wrap and through the box. Upon assembly it was found that the brackets would require some persuasion to align them correctly. Not the best brackets on the block but they were the cheapest.

These bolted up no problem on my '94 Heritage. Factory tail light clearance was an issue tho. When traveling I prefer hard bags over the old leather ones.

The brackets bolted onto the bike OK but to bolt the saddlebags on, I had to do some bending to the hardware overall I’ll give them a three out of five

did not line up properly, had to make the front hole bigger, was a little off but it fits now. 03 fatboy
