Fundamental Rockhound Products: 2 oz M-5 Polish for Rocks: Tumbling, Cabbing, Flat Laps M5

I used it to polish a petosky stone by hand. I had bought a few kits during a trip to MI and the aluminum oxide in the kit worked to a point. But I used this in place of the aluminum oxide, on a suede pad with a bit of water. If you lay the pad flat to dry, the media can be reused. Just as you can with aluminum oxide on a suede pad. Both need to be misted on occasion to maintain the proper consistency, but I got better results when I added this to the mix. I am a novice. So my experience may be taken with a grain of salt. Your mileage may vary. Update: I used it in my tumbler with sodalite & obsidians. The Mahogany Obsidian took 6 days, but the others only took 3. The Mahogany required a 40 minute burnishing step. I am thrilled with the results! I will keep M-5 in my back pocket. This last batch was in an aluminum oxide polish step for a week, with no shine to be seen.

It's an excellent product and works very well. My only problem is, it's fairly expensive some for someone in my financial position.

Great for every step in the lapidary process. You can use it for tumbling but my favorite thing is that it is not harmful (still wear a mask) like C.C (red, white,or yellow). My favorite use is cabbing. I hand shape and work my stones. I make a mix of water and powder in my bowl and I also add it to my drip. It also works well for polishing. It has a beautiful shine which cuts the time in half for me. Wish I could buy it in a larger size.

Very little product for the price you pay.
