SHIMANOPedal axle-Tool TL-PD40 Bike Tools

I have had several Shimano pedals end up with play over the last two years. Each time Ive ended up buying new pedals. When my pedals on the trainer in the basement started having play in them at 12k miles, I decided to rebuild them to see if I could get more mileage from them. This tool makes quick work of getting the spindle out of the road bike bodies, allowing you to get at cleaning the bearings and re-greasing them. It's plastic/resin, so you don't need a lot of torque to disassemble/assemble the pedals. It does its job well, cleans up easily, and then goes into the toolbox until the next time you need it. With putting 10k plus miles per year across 5 bikes, if this will help me from having to replace pedals every two years, its a worth its weight in gold.

Have used it twice now to rebuild/lubricate 2 sets of pedals. Can't do the job without this tool.

fairly inexpensive item for a specific purpose. Probably could have made due without it, but it made servicing my old SPD pedals a breeze.

Bought this to service my spd pedals, made removing the axle to service the bearings very easy. Without this tool you can't get to the bearings. Tool is worth the small price paid for the product.

If you’re going to do maintenance on your Shimano pedals this tool is a must. Be sure to follow the instructions on the tool.

Does what it's meant to do but I bought two because the plastic is easily marred. Admittedly I used a set of channel locks (all I had at the time) to engage the tool but a larger adjustable wrench worked better in the long run. It requires a separate wrench/plier/spanner to turn the tool and loosen the pedal spindle and I wasn't about to buy another tool just for this. I've got enough single-purpose bike tools.A metal version would have made more sense but maybe the point was to prevent chewing up the pedal spindle. It's cheap; it's average.

Funktioniert perfekt! Das Teil ist zwar aus Kunststoff, aber sehr stabil. Ich habe die Montage mit einer Rohrzange ohne Gabelschlüssel gemacht, war kein Problem!

Prodotto originale esclusivo per pedali shimano. Robusto, molto utile, specie se si vuole evitare dolori muscolari e soprattutto di cambiare pedali ogni due anni. Si trovano facilmente video che spiegano il funzionamento, smontando il fulcro del pedale, pulirlo e lubrificarlo.
