same part as OE including part numbers, hope it lasts 10 years like the OE
Same part as original Saab part--one of the few advantages to GM's takeover and eventual killing of the brand. Bought to fix an issue where the outside temp was reading as either 125F or ---. In most cases I wouldn't have worried about this in the winter because who wants to lay under a car in the middle of winter? But in this case, this drives more than just the display--it also is used as an input to the automatic climate control to help it decide whether it should apply heat or A/C. When it's really 15F but the controller thinks it's 125F the inside of the car gets cold! Fix was necessary.

Fixed the problem
This part fixed my problem with the ambient air temp reading. I thought it was bad to start with as it still read -40°, however after driving the vehicle for a while, the temp slowly returned to a normal reading and is now accurate. Good quality OE part, definitely recommend.

Fixed the problem
The air-conditioner in my 2000 GMC Yukon was working intermittently. Apparently, there are two (2) sensors that could cause this problem, one inside the and behind the dash (very hard to get to) and the other is under the hood below the passenger-side headlight (easy to get to). Hoping for the best, I replace the easy to get to sensor with this replacement, and my air-conditioner is working full-time again. This sensor is well-made and is selling at a very reasonable price.

Not for 2018 Malibu
Not for 2018 Chevy Malibu. Over trusted Amazon compatibility check

This sensor is for the HVAC reference (sends temp reading to head unit HVAC control unit in dash)
Used this to replace the existing climate control sensor on my 2004 Silverado extended cab. This sensor is located behind and below the passenger side headlight assembly(its snapped into a radiator shroud deflector). This isn’t the sensor that reads ambient temperature on the rear view mirror. That one is on the radiator support under the transmission cooler if so equipped and it’s typically grey if OEM. This one feeds ambient temp data to the HVAC unit in the dash.

I was actually very upset even though it's not an expensive part the section of Amazon that their car section tells you whether it will fit your vehicle or not and it's still saying it'll fit my vehicle it most definitely does not
