Works As Expected
Flip up to fully power on. Flip down to put in standby mode. Comes with long cable. Screen is bright blue and gives battery voltage reading and degree of charge. Also gives percent load. For example, if you have a 4kw inverter and the screen reads 50% output, then you are using 2kw of the total 4kw. Also displays input voltage and output voltage if you are hooked up to shore power or a generator. The screen light will turn off after 15-20 seconds and you have to press a button to turn it back on. This is to conserve power.

So far so good
This is a little expensive for what you get and am a little concerned because some people have had problems with them. So far so good.

AIMS Power Remote Meter
The meter works fine and has plenty of info as to how the inverter is performing. It would be nice if it came in a closure. For anybody interested in a box I used the following enclosure, Waterproof Electronic Junction Project Box Enclosure Case 200x120x75mm WP. Once you do the cut-outs it looks nice in the case. I used a chassis mount rj-45 connector with a short cable to connect to the meter. Now I can move the meter to another location and just plug the included cable into the back connector. Update: 07-26-2017 The three display lights no longer function. While unit is running there is no way to tell if it is inverting or charging without either turning display light on or looking at the actual inverter. Waiting on tech support. Update: 08-29-2017 Tech Support sent my repaired or either new meter back today and it works fine. It appears to be brand new as the box contained the cable and was packaged as if it was new and had the screen protector on it. I have included a few photos of the enclosure I made to mount the meter in. I only had to pay shipping back to Aims for repairing and they paid for the rest under warranty. Great Support

Screws not included
The product works great. Easy to read. For the price, they could have sent the 4 little screws that mount into the wall. We were all set to mount it, and had to drive 20 miles round trip to find small enough screws that weren't included.

Absolutly Garbage
The only usable feature of this remote is to turn the inverter on or off. It does not provide any other useful information other than that. The font is terrible too, and you can't read the screen from any angles at all. Further, the circuitry is not encased, so placing it into a wall amounts to a real risk of a fire hazard or it failing due to bugs or insects eating the wiring or moisture corroding the circuit board.

OK display, handy to be able to put so far away.
This remote does what it is supposed to do... let you see the status of the battery and inverter remotely. Mine is mounted in the drywall of my kitchen and let's me control and monitor the inverter that's in the basement. Great. Now the bad... well not bad, just not polished..... the display glitches every once in awhile when displaying the graphics. It's likely a refresh the screen and CPU interrupt issue, no cause for alarm... it just screws up the battery or bar graph icon for a fraction of a second every so often. The voltmeter and frequency meter aren't very accurate and sometimes the input reads different than the output when on AC power. Other reviewers have mentioned the backlight button. You have to press it for about 3 seconds and the display will light up for 30 seconds which is plenty. For what it's worth, the cable is a straight thru RJ45, so any CAT 5 cable will work. Some workers around my house severed the supplied cable and I replaced it with a 50' cat 5. Works great. They probably should tell you this in the instruction manual. If you just want to remotely turn on the inverter and don't care about the display functionality, you can simply install a switch on the RJ45 jack. 3-5 turns inverter on, 5-7 turns on with power saver mode. NOTE: the inverter's power save mode is practically useless since it only triggers with a resistive (heater) load, not a motor. I had wanted the inverter to run in power saver until, for example, my fridge came on. So the work around I can see is using a battery powered timer tied to the remote pins 3 and 5 to turn the inverter on every so often. The idle current on the inverter is kinda high, so you end up using 35-40% of your batteries just to idle the inverter all day. The best solution is this remote panel and simply turning it on or off as needed manually. The remote panel is a great idea and the only one that'll work with the aims inverters but it sure could have used a little more spit and polish.

Waste of money
So, 189 is a good fifth of what I paid for my inverter, I figured this would be quality. It's not. Cheap display (for 189 it could have had OLED and would be 1000% better, for really no major change in cost. junk connectors that aren't needed. The screen is almost completely unreadable unless you are 90 degrees from the face. Weird update issues, and in 2 days it's already started locking the display so it shows the same thing for 8 or 9 hours. Heck, they couldn't even include 4 .01 cent screws to tighten the ultra cheap plastic casing down. Aims, I've loved you for years, but this is a HUGE disappointment, makes me question any future purchases of your garbage! There are cheaper remotes that work MUCH better.
