Guinness World Records 2014 Gamer's Edition

I bought this on Amazon after my son saw it at his school book fair, because of course it was cheaper on Amazon. I was doubtful because it just seemed to me to be a cheesy spinoff from the real Guiness book which I always loved as a kid. However, my son loved it and has spent hours just pouring over it in detail and repeating to the whole family the facts that he's found to be interesting. A great purchase for a video game loving kid.

I wish you could see the pictures I received of my grandson reading this book! He was so engaged and just loves it. I think it made his month! This is a book that kids will enjoy because it has pictures of all the games they play, and clear statistics as well as clues to gaming. I was delighted to have chosen an A+ hit for him.

My preteen son is neck deep into video gaming, and this was the perfect gift for him. He has actually put down the controller a time or two to read in this book! The most use it gets though is reading in the car when traveling. He finds all sorts of gems in there and regales the rest of the family with his finds, so he obviously enjoys it.

My super 9 year old says the book is cool, lots of info and pointers. I have seen bis eyes glued to it at times, I tell him to read it out loud so I can hear. (Kids reading = happy dad)

I was a little worried that the rated M games might be a little graphic to see but the authors chose kid friendly pictures. The book has a lot of info. I would recommend this book. Helped me to better understand what games I will allow my 8 and 11 year old boys play. It also had a lot of interesting facts.

I bought this for my 10 year old son - he is a big gamer and he loves this book! I am always struggling to find books interesting enough for him to read. Although this isn't a novel, by any means, at least he's reading on his own initiative. If you have a child into Minecraft and other video games/apps they will love this.

My son is 9 but hates to read. He is obsessed with this book and carries it around with him everywhere. I found him at the car circle at school one day surrounded by other boys all wanting to look at this as well. Great book investment to keep your gamer child reading.

Wer sich nur ein wenig für Konsolen, PCs oder alles was mit Gaming zu tun hat, interessiert der muss sich dieses Rekorde Buch kaufen... Uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung!!! Leider NUR in Englisch, es gibt keine Deutsche Version davon. Mfg Sascha

Es un libro que está muy cuidado y muy bien hecho. Todas las páginas están realizadas con el mínimo detalle y con muchas curiosidades. La pena es que está en inglés y algunas gracias puede que no las entiendas, pero por el precio que tiene y lo entretenido de la lectura es un libro altamente recomendado.

My non-reading child read this book so many times it had to be taped together and was in tatters.

I have just purchased this for my son who really likes computer games and is an avid fan. It's so good to see that the horror based scenes/images that were contained in previous editions have more or less gone. As a result the edition is now more child friendly and having gone through the book I have found that there are no horrific images that require covering!!! So well done publishers, my son will be really happy!

J'aurais pu donner la note de 5/5 mais il n'est pas traduit en beaucoup de langues. Cela ne me gêne pas mais peut empêcher certaines personnes de l'acheter. Sinon, je le conseille vivement à tous les Gamers ou même les personnes nostalgiques des années où elles jouaient à des jeux vidéos mais qui ne peuvent plus le faire aujourd'hui. De plus, un "Guinness World Records" sur les jeux vidéo, c'est original ! Ce guide est vraiment complet (records sur Mario Kart, sur Pokémon, l'homme qui a la plus grande collection de jeux du monde, etc.). En conclusion, je suis heureuse de l'avoir !
