Sweet story, wish we had more for our daughter!
Love reading this to our baby girl, but someone is going to have to explain to her that Mommy is NOT actually going to cook with her, that's Mama's realm :D

Love makes a family!
My 2 year old son LOVES this book. As soon as we took it out of the amazon package, he yelled with joy “mama!!! Mommy!!”. He was so happy and it made me happy to see him happy. He immediately grabbed and brought it to me to read to him. I’m sure he felt how excited I was as he sat in my lap. He pointed to the pictures and kept saying mama and mommy. It made my heart melt. He even looked up and kissed me as I was reading. We could tell he understood in a sense. That he knew. He could relate. He loved it. We love it. We HIGHLY recommend. We are two moms and interracial couple. This book is perfect. The book is simple. Easy to understand. It will be helpful for all types of families to understand that love makes a family... it doesn’t have to be traditional mom and dad for love to exist. Ugh I can’t wait to read it again!! Thank you.

Awesome find
I was thrilled when I found this book for a little one and her two moms. It is a rare find that includes both same-sex parents.

Love is Love is Love is Love! Families can be Different. Love is the same
I bought this book for my daughter to instill a sense of acceptance from an early age. I am a woman married to a man and know my daughter is going to see many examples of that kind of family being celebrated and set as the acceptable norm. So it very important that she sees many types of loving families. She can't understand gay and lesbian rights and homophobia, as she is 5 months and no one has taught her hate. But she likes the pictures and likes that I tell her that the baby in the book does some the same things she does. I hug her and tell her that the 2 mommies love the baby like we love her. She doesn't comprehend all of this, but I think compassion and acceptance need to be instilled even before comprehension. We also have Daddy, Papa and Me by Leslea Newman. I like how the gender of the child is unknown. It says the books are for ages 4-8, but my baby likes them.

Beautiful
We are a LGBTQ family and this book has help my young children see their family reflected in stories. our youngest (only just 2) may be on the spectrum (we are working with all the right people) and it's been harder for her without any representation in the media she sees. This has helped.
