Replacement for 1950s Metal Oil Can
Dropped my 50s-era metal oil can damaging seams to point now leaking heavily. This 8qt Lisle is just inside ballpark of similarity. Spout is at top, metal can was at bottom. I can see the spout collar / nut breaking, looks like can be replaced with common nut used on sink continuous waste plumbing fixtures. So far, has held up through multiple oil changes. Don't like having to tip so far compared to old can, but also doesn't let oil flow if dropped fill spout either like on my old one. 2 oil changes, 15qts and 8qts, made me decide I needed something more again than using bottles. This plastic can works well.I foresee the raw plastic (ldpe / hope/ nylon) breaking down from being in UV from sunlight / fluorescent / mercury lights. Will be painting mine with a UV protectant or spray paint designed for plastics. You know which brand, starts with a K but not the planet Krypton. When painting, will be leaving strip along graduations to make it easier to fill. Old can was difficult to see level, as numbers started from bottom as 10, and top was 1. Must have been intended since spout was on bottom. This 8qt is much easier to see how much oil is inside to pour into engine, or on floor.8qt Lisle also is resilient. Dropped mine with 6qts oil. Didn't fall on spout initially, but it did bounce up a few inches a couple times after oil content was sloshed across the floor. I don't think lid is intended to stay on, looks more like a dirt / dust cover. I'm sure it would have slowed the distance oil was thrown... if I was using it.Cost was higher than I wanted, but is somewhat of a niche product without resorting to watering can for plants. Unfortunately, metal cans cannot be found, but this plastic one approaches durability.

Great Oil Dispenser
purchased to transfer fluids from barrels. Found to hold a lot of fluid with no leaks. The top helps a lot from preventing spills. Definitely getting value for the money. Quality is there and simple to use.

Nice jugs!
These have always been my favorite. As an owner of several lube shops, I've bought dozens of jugs in my life. These are the perfect size. They're durable. The flexible spout means we don't have to use funnels.

Heavy Duty
This is the tool you need to do mess-free, accurately measured oil changes on vehicles that require more than 5 quarts of oil. Works well with or without a funnel. High flow pouring. Worth the money to save the time and cleanup effort when changing oil.

Good oil dispenser
Great product - made in USA. This would be better if it came with the lid and spout cap to keep out dust/dirt like the 8 quart oil dispenser.

Awesome product
Used something exactly like this back when I was a lube technician at Valvoline, I liked it so much I got it for myself now. Works well, high quality material, and you won’t spill oil again.

10/10 would buy again
I watching a video and this guy used one of these to pour oil into his car and I decided to buy one and try and Ima tell you right now this thing made it 1000 times easier to pour oil into my 2022 GMC Canyon! it holds 6 quarts on the dot and so does this jug. put all the oil in it and ease the flex nozzle into the fill port and let it go, so much easier and no spills. i seen some reviews saying the nozzle would leak and mine don't so idk if they got a bad one or what but I didn't spill or leak a drop. cleans up easily and pours oil without spilling what more can you ask for?

The best stuff isn't necessarily new
I got tired of always trying to find the perfect funnel to put oil in my engines. Cars are pretty straight forward usually, but try to put oil in tractors or industrial and lawn equipment and that opens another can of worms. It seems with that kind of equipment they package everything around the oil drain and the oil fill. I can't do anything about the drain but this oil dispenser covers all of my oil filling needs. This works very well and the end of the installation tube fits everything I own and I don't need a funnel at all. The container is graduated and you can leave oil in it and keep it clean since there are covers that make the dispenser air tight. These things come straight from the 50's and 60's, but no one has yet made any kind of suitable replacement for what this design does so well.
