Piano Adventures: Gold Star Performance - Level 1 | Songbook for Late Elementary Students | Piano Sheet Music Book with Online Audio Access | Technique and Rhythm Exercises | Faber Piano Book Review: Excellent for building confidence and expression - This is one of my favorite books to use with students who are nearing the end of Level 1 and ready for something a little more special. The pieces feel like a celebration of everything they’ve learned so far. They are a bit more expressive and dynamic than the core method pieces, which helps students build confidence and musicality. The online audio tracks are beautifully recorded and give students a clear model to listen to at home. I also appreciate the technique and rhythm exercises included throughout the book, which reinforce skills in a fun and creative way. I often give this book as a reward or milestone marker for students who have worked hard. It feels polished and inspiring, and it keeps them motivated through the next level. Review: Kids love the songs, and their playing WILL improve - Use these in my music classroom. The songs are harder than the regular books at this level, but they are so fun that every kid has risen to the challenge. They can learn concepts ahead by using the CD and trusting their ear a bit. There may be a few unfamiliar concepts, but if you explain it quickly to help them get the song, you'll find that later when it comes up in the lesson book, it's so easy for them because they already "know it." For example, some of the songs have sharps, which aren't introduced until midway through the lesson book. But i just show them what note to play. Then when they get to sharps in the lesson book, they feel like experts already and can grasp it on a deeper level. Great for boosting students' ability, and great for student performances. Highly recommend. I use this as much as possible.

Kids LOVE these songs
Kids love these songs, and they are especially good for orienting children around the keyboard by making them move their hands to different octaves. The accompanying CD is great for giving the kids an audio reference. In general these pieces are very musical, fun to play, the duets are especially valuable for teaching musicality and cooperative listening skills... overall a great series!

Excellent practice & knowledge! Choices of songs is also quite fine . My child used these for preparation of his grade initial Trinity exam as extra practice.
