What are active ingredients? I just need an expectorant for excess phlegm not for a cough.

Guaifenesin. My Pulmonologist recommended this to reduce all the excess phlegm I have. I prefer these over the 12 hours because I can take them when I need them. Works great

I have oblong pills imprinted EB in the bottle, not tablets like on the picture on the bottle. is the oblong correct pill?

The picture on the bottle itself shows round pills. When you open the bottle they are oval white tablets, with the letters EB on them. i have taken them and they are OK. Hope this helps.

Are the magnesium stearate or stearic acid derived from animal sources?

The label does not say, but I think it is made from vitamin sources as in mucinex
