Perfect Accessory
The item went well with the costume and worked beautifully. I love that it makes sounds. It's exactly as described.

Rather interesting Sonic Screwdriver
First off I am very pleased with this Sonic Screwdriver. I was just very taken off guard when I saw that it isn't like the 3rd, 4th or 5th Doctors where you pull down on the neck to activate it. This one there is just a button that you press. Was pretty surprised by that but other than that it was a great buy.It feels good in the hand and it has the 4 sounds that the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Screwdriver has (Two regular sounds and 2 "Hidden" ones).

Liked it.
It is very durable, and the emitter head is a little bit more sturdy. Wish the button was up higher along the screwdriver, since it is a little hard to hold the right way and activate it at the same time. Only complaint is that the first time I ordered it, I received the Fifth's.

you have to be a kid
You really have to be a kid...my son has a million of these, and he loves every one of them. I don't get what the purpose is. They light up, spin around, make noise and drive you crazy. They seem to make him happy though.

Great, but....
Collectors no doubt realize that the sonic screwdrivers of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th Doctors are extremely similar aside from some fairly minor paint trim. The 8th Doctor's screwdriver has the biggest variation--it is one piece, rather than three integrated shafts, so is probably the sturdiest--it operates via a well-concealed button on the handle. The 4th Doctor screwdriver and the one of the Other Doctor have four sounds vs. two each for the others (there is a "hidden" sound in all of these, but you wear out the batteries trying to find it). The idea of a sonic screwdriver for the 5th Doctor is problematical, since his was destroyed in "The Visitation"--one of many bad ideas by John Nathan Turner.

Not the most impressive device....
No light only sound. Will work for my purposes, but not the most impressive.

Good detail, the paint is a little cheap though
Good detail, the paint is a little cheap though. It rubbed off in my pocket. Thats fine though. I got a roll of aluminum tape here for cheap and carefully applied it to the handle and it looks good now and very metallic, just like the prop. For light use or those who wear soft pants though you should be fine.

The Paul McGann Sonic Screwdriver
During the Movie in 1996, the 7th Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) used this for the first time to trap the master in a container. As the 7th Doctor was forced to land in San Francisco 30th December 1999 and then shot by gang members "Chung Lee". The 7th then regenerated in hospital into the 8th Doctor, the items that included the Sonic Screwdriver was stolen by a witness who saw him shot. So the 8th Doctor had to stop the Master from taking his 5 remaining incarnations before bringing the world to an end before the 21st century. As the Master got sucked into the Eye of Harmony in the TARDIS, Doctor has landed in San Francisco on midnight 1st January 2000. Chung Lee returned his items including the Sonic Screwdriver, so the Doctor repaid him with $1,000,000,000 worth of gold dust. Then Chung Lee was never seen again. In 2013 a prequel of "The Day of the Doctor", the 8th Doctor returned to save a girl called Cass during the Time War because the ship she was on is colliding to a planet, he used the sonic screwdriver to open the doors in the corridors. As Cass knew that the Doctor is a Time Lord, Cass then refused to be rescued by the Doctor as the Time War is based on Time Lords vs The Daleks. So as the ship crashed, the Doctor regenerated into the War Doctor (John Hurt) and the Sonic Screwdriver was altered into a weapon.Would recommend to fans and collectors
