This stuff is an excellent holiday libation. The only problem is it’s only available during the holidays. Buy two.

We never knock a local product, right?, well,,,
Spice Hunters Hot Buttered Rum mix is made by a local firm located about 12 miles south of us , "down the grade "- We are 1,800 ft above sea level, San Luis Obispo is approx 100 ft above sea level, and, perhaps that is one reason why they mostly have rather wimpy tastes![As well: rather left wing social restrictions...always fighting the verve of us M.O.R./Right Wing Federalist thinkers, and, us, a bit too right of the roasted garlic and Extra Virgin olive oil tastes, as well as SLO always fighting the Cal Poly student activity...oh well, back to the SH-HBR mix: To All " youse guy's" out there, who grew up with REAL Hot Buttered Rum, yeah, East Coast Style, aka as the "13 states/colonial real HBR", also realize that the BEST HBR mix comes from Trader Vic's, [God Bless 'em], which is only available during the "frosty months".Making HotButteredRum from scratch is fun, but a very time consuming enterprise...Thusly, I have used this product, 2 tbsp, along with 1-2 TBSP of Collins HBR mix, with [ALWAYS] Meyers Jamaican run, or Pussers, or one of the other hard to find Dark Jamaican Rum , AND Real butter [some of the best available her are from France [Try the PRESIDENT Brand butter w/sea salt crystals-from NORMANDY], and, butter from Ireland, [Trader Joe's-Thanks TJ], from various New England and Wisconsin areas, and several from right here in the land of "fruits and nuts" [AKA California, or, as Arnold mumbles, Kali-Forrniaaa.]. I also add Nutmeg, Ginger, Cinnamon and Cardamom. [Mouth watering, ehh?]Growing up in the New York City area, my extended family [including aunts and uncles here in the US, as well as several A/U from Ireland/Scotland, Germany, Canada, Italy and...XXXXCuba}, presented the best available spirits during the Christmas season. The rum, I remember, to be exotic dark rums from every part of the Caribbean, including, Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, St. John [as well as several of the other small island states therein],and South American states at the general meridian of the above countries...Hot buttered rum is sorta-kinda an elixer...AND, I enjoy HBR anytime I hanker to delve into the varied depths of flavors available with this elixir. [OK, also the slight BUZZ, take].Thank you Spice Hunter, for one of the basic elements available to me to prepare HBR, Hey SH, perhaps you might develop a similar jarred HBR mix, ala trader Joes concoction?Enjoy fellow Amazoni clan members.regards, as ever,Robert P. von Fischbach, Atascadero, California.

Delicious, goes fast.
I was a bit skittish to buy this because I usually see it refrigerated. But I was pleasantly surprised- delicious and spicy. It does go quickly though. The next time i buy, I will look for a larger size.

My favorite Hot Toddy.
I'd been trying to find this mix at a decent price ever since the holidays passed. This is my favorite mix for my favorite cold-night drink and, let's face it, we're not out of cold nights yet.
