Replacement Control Pod Compatible for Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 Computer Speakers Wired Remote

My ProMedia 4.1 system sounds like new. I thought it was the decades of heavy use taking their toll on the speakers themselves, but I was mistaken. The Klipsch "control pod" was the culprit. After swapping out the official Klipch control pod with this control unit, the subwoofer has that kick that I remember, and the satellites sound like a dream.I bought the ProMedia 4.1 (myself) when I was 12 years old. Back when "THX Certified" speakers on a computer was madness. You needed a dedicated audio card to get more than 2 channels. These speakers kept me going all throughout my schooling and beyond. I have a sentimental attachment to these speakers and I couldn't be more happy with this replacement control unit. I'm hoping it will bring me many more years of enjoyment from some of the best "computer speakers" ever sold.

I purchased this product to replace a Klipsch Promedia 4.1 control pod. It reproduces all the inputs/outputs and controls of the OEM pod, albeit not as nicely. The material quality is a distinct step down from the OEM components. The knob resistances are stiff, though they rotate smoothly. The enclosure is made of fairly light plastic that has an amount of flex and feels light and immaterial. The on/off button has a good click, but wobbles and feels light and fairly cheap. The cables look and feel like any other cheap DIN to DIN and 3.5mm male-male cables. Completely unremarkable, cheap cables. That said, everything works great. Plug it in, boom, my 17 year old "B" stock Promedia 4.1 setup is back in business. So while its not a premium experience, for the price, it might be the best available option to keep an otherwise unusuable setup going for a few more years.

I bought this to replace my Control Pod for Klipsch 4.1 Promedia because my surround knobs finally gave out from being cleaned with contact cleaner and I think there is a broken wire, so I got this replacement, it works but I noticed after hooking it up that I had a lot of static in speakers, then I unplugged the front & rear 3.5mm from pod and had just the din plugged in that's when I noticed how much feedback was coming from this new pod, I noticed also when I put my hand closer to it the feedback got worse, so I decided to put the pod closer to the subwoofer where the amplifier is and the feedback started to go away, when I put the control pod right against the amplifier the feedback completely went away, so I figure this has to be a "GROUND or RF" issue, I tried running ground wire from Amp to Pod to mimic what I did when I put pod right against amp but not the same, so I sent Klipsch an email asking for new or rebuilt pod from them or rebuilding my pod, if not then I will find a Small Electronics shop to rebuild mine for me, but I think I'm going to have to return this because of the feedback issue and it's ruining the whole reason of why people bought good speakers, good copper wires, amp's, hi res sound cards, hi res flac music files and DDP files !!!!

If you need to replace the controls on your Klipsch surround system this does the job. It doesn't fit into the original slot, but I didn't want to replace my whole system since this sounded so good. My original was scratchy and cut out so I ordered this and got rid of the original. Plugged in perfectly and worked like a champ!

I have a almost 20 year old Klipsh system that the volume control broke. This worked as a perfect replacement. Very happy with it. I just wish it was a tad bit cheaper.

Burnt out in less than 4 months, stunk up the house. The green LED would not work most of the time to indicate that the unit was on. Missed the return deadline!

opened the box plugged it in and it shorted my sub-woofer which is sad because the 4.1 is irreplaceable I've had the system for 18yrs.
