Some of the wording may be misleading/confusing, so be sure to do a little research before you buy. This one might be okay for smaller owls, but I'm still a little worried it may be a little small even for Screech Owls, but we'll see. Cornell has a website: NestWatch.org that has tips on the size box you'll need for each species of owl (and how/where/when to place it for best results). Kudos to this great company for helping preserve these important, gorgeous birds!

I put this up last spring and starlings nested in it. I guess I put it up too late for a make owl to come, wait for his mate to arrive when the trees start leafing out. I looked out the window one morning in mid-December, and there he was! He must have another potential nest bc he comes and goes, always comes back after a day or two. Hoping very much his mate chooses the nest box to lay her eggs in so that I can see the chicks once they fledged. So so happy in any case to have a beautiful screech owl to watch. They’re in decline where I live, far western maryland in Appalachia, so I’m double happy to see him.

Great owl box. Obviously has pride in the work that he does.
