I work at home and have clients in several different countries. I wanted to find a map for my home office that I could use to keep track of my business without making it look like a schoolroom. This one caught my eye because it looks trendy and decorative, and it would also make it easy for me to highlight the areas that are most relevant to my business.The map arrived quickly and it looked great! It was packaged in a sturdy cardboard tube that was sealed on both ends and could be opened and reused, like one of those cylindrical wine boxes. It looked nice enough to give as a gift (and I know a few homeschoolers who are trying to get their kids interested in geography, so I will definitely be keeping this in mind).I had a few concerns before I ordered the map. I was worried that the paper might not be sturdy enough to withstand having the top layer scratched off, or the scratch-off coating might not leave clean, sharp edges. A wrinkled map with a top layer that kept flaking off would look awful. So the biggest question I had was whether or not it was made well using quality materials.After trying it out, I am happy to see that it was an EXCELLENT purchase!!! The scratch-off material doesn't flake but can be removed cleanly when you want it to. It is printed on strong paper that hasn't wrinkled even though it is hanging on a textured wall. The colors are vibrant and eye-catching, and I learn something new every time I reveal another country.I would definitely purchase this again, it's a wonderful product and I am so glad I decided to get it.

Looking at the previous reviews, it looks like there are two different versions of this map that people are receiving. Mine shipped from the U.S. and took two days to arrive, and the quality of the map is excellent. I think there may be a cheap Chinese knock-off that some people get, not sure why.I *loved* the one that I got. The paper is thick and durable, with a smooth matte coating. The background is a dark grey and the colors are rich and vibrant. I didn't find it difficult to scratch off the foil, but I was being slow and careful about it. I had the map on a table and scraped the edges of the countries with my fingernail and used an eraser to remove the rest and it came out great, no scratch marks on the paper at all. My only (very small) gripes are that the countries in South America are all the same shade of red, and northern Eurasia is all teal. There is a small amount of color difference in other parts of the world, but it's minimal. My other complaint (again, super nit-picky) is that there's relief shading for a lot of it, but not for some countries. Colombia, Ecuador and Peru are home to the Andes, but there's no shading at all, while Chile and Argentina are shaded.Some people have complained that the map doesn't fit in a standard frame which isn't entirely true. It's made in the UK, so it fits European standard A1 frames but not typical American frames. Find one online or at a specialty frame store and you're golden!

The product itself is a unique way to document your world travels.I had to order it twice, as the first time the package and product was damaged. The box was also damaged the second time, but the product was no.

Excellent Product!I anticipated the arrival of my scratch map and when it arrived, it was all I expected and more! Firstly, the holder in which it is kept is very expensive looking and would be perfect if you were buying it as a gift. It also provides great details on whats inside and information about the best way to use the map. The map itself is of sturdy material and could be hung on your wall as it. Just to accentuate the colors, I will frame mine and hang it in the center of the entertainment room as I am sure it will draw much interest from guests who visit my home. What I like most about it is that is it very detailed, listing pretty much all the countries and places in the world that you could possibly visit! The country labels are large enough for you to be able to read them without making the map cluttered nor too large. True to expectation, the original gold color will be erased by a regular eraser to reveal the brilliant colors of the countries beneath.I am so excited about seeing what is below each country, it makes me want to travel more! It will also make a great gift for those friends and family members who are traveled. An overall excellent product and price, you will not be disappointed!

The media could not be loaded. I was completely surprised by the durability and quality of the map, especially when compared to the price. When I was looking at the reviews before I purchased it I saw that a lot of reviewers wrote that when they scratched the map it ruined spots ... They MUST have gotten it from a different company, it can't be the same one I received from Amazon. It is printed on thick, rich matte paper. I scratched off a couple spots just to see if the states in North America are separate and they are. I got it for my children's room initially, but once I took it out, saw it, and touched it, I decided to hang it in my library. Absolutely love it, great purchase 😃

If this was sent as a gift I would be concerned. My package looks like it was already opened and the exterior container was damaged. The inside content looked fine(have not scratched yet). But as a gift this packaging was clearly opened and unacceptable for the price. This was shipped inside of a larger brown box so there was no carrier suspected damage. This damage was from the supplier.

Gave this as a Christmas gift to my SIL since she travels a lot for work and pleasure. Kept my fingers crossed she'd like it only for her to comment that she has had it in her Amazon cart for a while now, contemplating whether or not to get it! If you yourself are a traveler, or have one you're close to, get them this map.
