Another solid winner from Nautica
This jacket look even better in real life than in the stock picture. It's definitely a jacket dress to impress. The color is rich and deep, the texture look really smooth and polish and the material look really upscale. I carefully inspected the stitching, buttons and pockets lining and every little detail is perfect. My skin has always been sensitive to wool and it was my neck area itches a little the first day or two but now I get used to it.It's a heavy jacket so it's really warm and I like that I can cover my neck area unlike other men's over coat that I have. It's a heavy jacket so it keeps me warm even when temperature was 31 degrees the other day and windy. But it's not overly heavy like my other full length overcoats. And because it is not a full length coat it makes it much easier to get in and out of cars. This high quality coat definitely does the Nautica name justice and I am really glad I paid a little more for this coat than other brand that I was considering. It's definitely worth the money and I trust that it will serve me well for many years to come.

Nice fitting, stylish coat
While researching pea coats, this one by Nautica came up with good reviews on several sites so I decided to take a chance at the $80 price range plus the fact that it was a slim fit coat. The coat is very nice. It is a slim fit and I love how it fits me. I did have to size DOWN. I am 6' and 175 lbs and normally take a large in all of my coats but took a MEDIUM in this coat. Some reviewers noted that the jacket was "itchy" and not warm but I did not experience any itchiness and the jacket, while not a winter parka, was warmer than expected. I receive many compliments on it when I am wearing it. Minor issues is the weird strip of fabric behind the collar that other reviewers mentioned and I noticed that the material may pick up lint more than normal but nothing that a good lint roller can handle.

Great deal, solid coat
Does great for me in NYC winters with the appropriate layers underneath. Looks very good but not great.

Good price for fashion, no bargain for practicality
The jacket has a nice feel to it, but I failed to take into account that this is a Nautica jacket and so is more geared toward smart styling and finish than practical utility. It does a fair job of keeping mild cold off, but I would NOT want to stand a watch on deck or depend on this as my working coat on the water. It has a slim fit to it, so if you're "gym fit", it'll be perfectly tailored for you. If you have a larger frame (either from real work, or the body type that conversely results from want of physical activity - despite your best efforts of course) the pockets will bulge out and the buttons will loosen up with somewhat disheartening speed. Bottom line, it's a nice 'style coat', but if you want a real working pea coat, spend the extra thirty or forty bucks and get a real navy (or at least decent mil-spec.) one. You'll appreciate the difference when the wind/spray/rain/snow starts blowing or you actually wear the jacket as - gasp! - a jacket, keeping things other than your hands in the pockets or using it for work. This one also doesn't tolerate being hung on a chair or lain over the arm of the couch without quickly looking like it was used as a crumpled, drunken sleep-over pillow. If you wear it for what it is, though - a well tailored, fashionable coat that's good quality for the money I can't fault it in any way. Just don't expect this to be the coat you've had forever that your lady loves to see you in because it smells like a million odd jobs and the woods.

Great quality, look, and fit for the price
Bought XXL for my boyfriend who is 6’2 and 275 lbs. some of the other men’s pea coats on amazon look way too “fitted” like women’s coats and I was trying to stay away from that. With this one, I was worried it would be bulky and boxy on him or not long enough, but it fits well. It’s not too loose and isn’t tight fitted. There is room for layering if he wanted. The lining is a very nice navy blue. Lapels are a bit big but it doesn’t look bad. Buttons seem cheap but are sewn on fine - not worried about them falling off. Fabric feels sturdy and not rough. I think it’s perfect for California’s cold weather. Don’t know anything about “real” cold weather so can’t say if it’s thick enough for snow cities.

Not bad for the money.
So this jacket is a modern slimmer cut interpretation of the classic pea coat. Where a traditional pea coat is large and boxy in order to fit over several layers, this coat fits more like a sportcoat. I'm 6'1", 196 lbs. I wear a 44R suit coat with 34W pants. I wanted a slimmer fitting pea coat for the less chilly days when a t-shirt or button down was being worn. This coat sizing is perfect for that. Shoulder seams fall perfectly and it is just roomy enough through the waist. If I wanted to wear a sweater or layer thicker clothing, this would be too tight and I would wear a traditional cut pea coat. Length is on par with the length you would find on a suit or sport jacket. The material is a softer, lighter weight, tighter woven fabric. Again warm enough for cool days, probably want something heavier if your in a colder climate or just don't tolerate cold very well. The underside of the collar has a bit of the same material used to line the jacket sewn in as a contrast. Not sure whether I like it or not, but this is a design choice and is only seen if you pop the collar to seal up your neck. Now as others have mentioned the quality control is a little off. The right side lower buttons are sewn through to the inside causing and odd constriction near the pocket. It is not sewn through the pocket and is easily remedied by removing the thread and restitching the buttons. For $80 or less, I feel this is a good coat that can have the minor QC issues easily remedied. For any higher cost or for a true original sizing or warmth level, keep looking. I already own a traditional cut wool pea coat, so this fit my needs at a reasonable price point. I would recommend this coat to others with the same needs as I.
