You get what you pay for
I am not big fan of instant coffee. But I decided to try this Grateful Earth product because I found the ingredients intriguing and the majority of the reviews very positive. At first glance it reminded me of the Carnation International coffees but it had a more natural smell and didn't leave an oily residue in my mouth. T he scent and mouth feel of Grateful Earth were very pleasant. There is no need to add milk or sugar; the coffee is flavorful. I kept reading the package as I drank my first cup, expecting to discern the individual flavors. All I tasted was good coffee. I am a foodie and fully expect to pay a realistic price for quality food and drinks. I believe this product fairly priced for its quality. My family is traveling from out of state to join me for the holidays and I look forward to introducing them to this delicious, healthy coffee. And IF they behave, maybe a couple of samples will be placed in their Christmas stockings!

Great for my gut health
I can't drink coffee everyday as I have some digestive issues. I switched to this brand of mushroom coffee about a year ago. The smell was earthy and I remember at first being a little wary as I had tried a few other brands that were aweful. This blend is great and I look forward to it just like I used to look forward to my americano in the morning. I have never like sweetner in my coffee just a little half and half. This 3-1 blend is great though. No wierd bitter aftertaste. It dissolves quickly with a quick whisk unlike some of the other brands that never really dissolved and had chunky bits throughout. I'm glad I found this brand and will continue to use it. My only complaint is that it is pretty spendy.

A little too peppery
Grateful Earth mushroom coffee is good, smooth, not grainy, and healthier than other mushroom coffees I’ve been drinking due to the additional ingredients, which attracted me to this product. I sweeten with a teaspoon of monk fruit and non-dairy creamer for flavor. It tastes like a peppery coffee, though, which is disappointing. The pepper really comes through for me, I was hoping the cinnamon would be a top note, but I am sensitive to pepper so that may be why it’s so noticeable. It does add an interesting taste, is not overpowering but it’s there, it does have all the good ingredients that I was searching for, and I get it all in one cup without having to add a supplement to my diet. I also like the transparency of the company, which offers more info (on the website) than most mushroom coffee producers. If I can get past the pepper taste, I would certainly purchase again. But the pepper smell/taste is off-putting for me, and I like looking forward to my morning coffee - it’s what gets me up of a morning to face the day. I won’t look forward to the taste of pepper. So, I will use this as a late afternoon coffee at work rather than my first coffee of the day.

I’ll admit, the hype sold me...
Ok so, I’m an AVID coffee drinker. My mornings are NOT complete without my cup of instant unleaded to get me going. I am also very health conscious so I opt for the organic instant as a I want the cleanest cup of coffee I can get. I don’t even remember how, but I stumbled onto this stuff about a month ago and at first thought “$46 for instant coffee?! Wtf?!?” But then I read into it a little bit(first mistake) and figured “meh, why the heck not?!” I saw the nice pretty bold letters on the packaging and thought “hm, healthier coffee? Might be a nice weekend indulgence after my usual 50-60 hours work week...” So, I thought “F it,” and I placed an order. Well, I really should’ve read further into it because beyond tasting good(at first), this coffee, at least to me, is nothing more than if I were to pickup some coconut creamer and dump it into my cup of instant every morning... The first two ingredients in this coffee are coconut creamer and brown sugar... yet you’re buying instant coffee... I first noticed this when I opened a packet and dumped it into my cup of hot water. I thought “huh, that’s a lot of white powder... where’s the coffee?” Then I had my first taste and thought “hm, pretty tasty.” Then.... after that cup, I had this disgusting aftertaste in my mouth for HOURS! I don’t know which ingredient it is but, this stuff will leave a nasty aftertaste for hours after you drink a cup. I guessing they don’t use high quality coffee.... I’m going to finish the bag because I paid for it. But never again.... for $46!! Ha! No f’ing way! 20 servings.... I may as well go to Starbucks and become ‘one of those people’.... Also, I can much guarantee the reviews for this coffee are placebo... at first taste, it is pretty good, and you get a little caffeine hit which will obviously make you more alert. But beyond that, it’s absolutely nothing special....
