A ballpoint pen worthy of the price
I love this ballpoint pen , it’s like a chunky solid brass pencil . Durability wise , I can carry it safely in my pocket without concern for it’s safety , it’s solid ! I also love the brass finish as it takes on a patina showing the marks of life’s journey , I personally don’t polish the finish . ( I appreciate the patina the brass finish takes on , no journey worth taking is without trials and tribulations )

Great design, great pen
I own only a few pens. I'm not a big collector per se, but I enjoy well-designed, quality stuff, especially if I can afford it. This is sitting in front of me in my office desk since I bought it and it's going nowhere. I love the ageless hexagon design, the chubby and short profile, its heft, plus brass is such a charming material. I polish it every two months with Brasso (it takes me 2 min: one for spreading, one for buffing). The natural patina looks good, but it's so satisfying to bring it back to mint condition every time, I can't help it. It comes in a lovely tin can, and the ink cartridge works fine for me. I would buy it again, and would definitely recommend the Kaweco brand. Kaweco, Lamy, Staedtler, Rötring (now Japanese-owned), Wüsthof, you can't go wrong with those Germans.

Super Classy, Very Pricey
Like most Kaweco products, this ballpoint pen is top quality - solid, precise, reliable and beautiful. Also like most Kaweco products, it is very expensive. A good choice for a high-end gift, or a lifetime investment in a fine writing tool. Another plus: It will accept a Fisher Space Pen refill, that writes in all temperatures (and underwater!) making it even more useful. On the downside, be aware that you can get a perfectly serviceable plastic pen - one that writes just as well, and literally uses the same Parker-style refill - for less than one-twentieth the price of this high-end German import.

Your brass pen hunt starts and ends here!
This pen is a must pickup! I needed it to add to my brass carry. It writes smooth and the mechanism is good enough. The standard cartridges like most put of the box are lousy. My go to refills are Schmidt. So I would order some from them as well as the pen clip that is sold separately to complete this. Not a good shirt pen, this thing has weight. (Get a Rotring 600 or 800 for that) You will probably also not like this if you have big man hands. But I absolutely love this thing!

Yes.
I have several Kaweco Brass pens; the rollerball, ballpoint, graphite holder and this one, the Special. I love it. Nicely made. Good weight. Great click. Yes, the brass will patina but I like that about it. The price fluctuates a lot so pay attention. But yeah, awesome.

A nice pen but not perfect.
It has a satisfying heft and great fit and finish, but it rattles a bit which is kind of annoying and doesn't match the price of it. Another thing is that the actual brass part is thin. It's just a thin brass tube and they added some other metal inside to make it hefty. Also if you have really big hands or prefer holding the pen from a high point, this one is probably too short for you.

USED Product
Why send a used product for a customer paying for something brand new? I should have know something was wrong when I opened the envelope and saw scotch tape on both sides of the tin can and cardboard. Upon opening I immediately knew it was used. I own several Kaweco Brass pens and the brass pens always came sparkling and polished. Almost mirror-like. This one was dull and already came varnished. To add, it was missing one of the booklets that Kaweco pens always come with. This is purely bad business.

Rugged and writes well
Previously I purchased the graphite pencil version of this writing utensil. Its robust design and practical size lead me to purchase this ballpoint pen version. I routinely carry it in my pants pocket rather than in a shirt pocket. It is every bit as rugged as the pencil version and feels nice and heavy in the hand. I have other much more expensive pens which I use in appropriate settings but not in the daily rough situations in which these are used.
