Springfield XD 9 40 Tactical Recoil Control Thumb Rest (Does not fit xd9 with Safety; xd45 & xdm) #1330

With my thumbs forward hold I would always hit the slide lock on my xd9 causing the slide to close on an empty mag. This product took care of that!! I cut off one "ear" for comfort. It definitely reduces muzzle flip, and gives it that 1911 feel. I call it my thumb recliner and would recommend it highly

As far as looks, it’s sexy. But it comes with a price:... the fitament ...It’s a unbelievable battle to get it mounted. I’m an experienced gunsmith, but the amount of Dremel work and stress was remarkable. 2 people is best to do this project with. Also highly recommend also using a set of long barrel punches.Also, side note: the reviews stating it’s difficult to release the slide is also true. Fully plan to Dremel down the slide stop side for better accessibility.

Having trouble with it. Before I did the installation i just had on my firearm. Looked great not overkill or outta place. But when it came to actually putting it on.. only one side fits and the other hole doesn't match up..In the YouTube video they put it on no problems.

came in early and made my gun sexier but that's the only thing good about it... went to the range didn't see / feel an improvement. it makes releasing your slide harder cause thumb rest keeps on blocking it. I've seen some videos that they cut a small part of it so u can release the slide easier. and when it was delivered. it was missing that grip groove part. Im still keeping it and maybe modify it a bit to make it better.

Works great.it was missing the back parts safety and cant find a way to get a hold of them to try to fix it

Bought one for my xd 45acp in 4 inch, went on so simple. It makes getting to the slide release hard, but I liked the idea of the slide not cutting my girls thumb webbing open. So I bought another one for her 40 xd subcompact. It was very difficult to get it mounted. I had to dremmel away both insides, back, and bottom. It finally fit, but it is very difficult to release her slide!I'm not sure I'm going to keep them mounted, I was looking at the slide release extensions to install, but damn they are expensive

So happy about this purchase! Fits like a glove and just holding my gun with this feels so much better already cant wait to take it out and see how it does.
