Jasmine Pearls 2.5 oz Tin Green Tea (Superior Grade)

I've had quite a few different jasmine tea pearls and they come in a variety of grades. These superior grade specimens from Summit are just that. They average around 8mm-1cm in diameter (large) and have an extremely pungent and fresh jasmine aroma. In the cup they unfurl into whole young spring needle leaves. The liquor is an inviting pale yellowish green with moderate to strong tannin and a rich flavor strongly redolent of jasmine blossoms. I drink this kind of tea in a tall cup. I put 6-10 pearls in the bottom and let the leaves unfurl there (i.e. I do not use an infuser and I do not remove the leaves while I drink the tea). Unlike most green teas this doesn't get too bitter with an extended time in the cup. In this way it is like a green wulong. Because of the strong flavor, this tea can be infused multiple times. The quality of jasmine tea pearls varies. Some are small and hard. Some are infused with only jasmine oil and some include blossoms. This example is among the better ones obtainable in terms of size and grade of the leaves and the quality of the floral scent. Recommended.

In the last couple of months, I've drastically cut back on my caffeine intake. I'm new to the tea world, but am very excited at this new venture and am thrilled to know that there are so many great teas out there for my evolving pallet. I was recommended by a friend and avid tea drinker to try Jasmine Pearl Tea. What a great suggestion! It's light, naturally sweet, and has such a wonderful aroma. The only thing I was surprised about this order was the package size vs the amount of tea pearls contained inside. The tin they came in was much too large for the quantity of the pearls inside which provided a lot of room for the pearls to knock around during shipping- caused some of them to become unraveled or slightly powdery. Still delicious- so delicious, in fact, I placed a second order: one for home and one for work!

If one was to be assaulted by a jasmine plant, it would smell just like the floral aroma that filled the room when I greedily pried the lid off of my tin of tea. The scent is overwhelming. The pearls are smaller than other brands I've seen, but they unfurl beautifully and can be re-steeped. As far as flavor, it's light on the tongue but heavily perfumed. I prefer many fast steepings as opposed to just one or two longer ones, so your mileage may vary. If you brew this, I recommend letting the kettle cool a little first. Don't pour boiling water on the leaves, let it rest a minute. Green is more delicate. I kept my leaves in the water a minute for the first steeping, a minute for the second, ninety seconds for the third, and two minutes for the fourth. Filtered water tastes better than tap.

Ordered this on a whim. I drink a lot of tea and often order from a select few sites depending on the season. This Jasmine tea was just okay for me. Had the slightest bit of a chemical taste to it, nothing cloying but perhaps I am overly sensitive to it. Massively twiggy even for pearl type tea. Drinkable but I will stick with my preferred tea vendors.

The tea is ok. This does not get 4 or 5 stars because it is not in the air tight tin as shown. It's more or less a zip lock bag, which should keep it fresh but that's yet to be seen. If the tin is important to you, this is not for you. The aroma is very "grassy". The taste is slightly grassy, but just a tad. It is delicate. I used about 1/4 teaspoon of sugar with it in a normal cup and it's ok. Lacks that "liquid silk" feeling of some jasmine teas but very drinkable.

I have purchased this tea several times, for myself, and as a gift for a dear friend. I have tried several different green teas, and have had other jasmine teas, but this is by far the best I have tried, and my friend agrees as well. I joke that this tea is my "drug" because it is so soothing and enjoyable. I can make 3 cups of tea off of one steep, so that just makes it even better. I have a single cup brewer, and my husband (& children) know to put my tea in a cup to save, if they need to use the brewer. I am very greedy with my tea and don't want it wasted! I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my most recent order, I HIGHLY recommend you try if you like jasmine tea; and if you haven't tried jasmine tea, then start out with the best, you wont be disappointed.

Kind of said it all in the title. I use 6 to 10 balls in 12 ounces of very hot water and let it steep for just a few minutes. I then drain all the tea into my tea cup and consume it. I then add more very hot water to the tea balls and repeat this process 4 or 5 times. Sometimes, after the second or third brewing, I will add a couple of new tea ball to the old one to refresh the wonderful aroma and flavor. Works very well when I am drinking tea with company (in the event you wondered how I drank so much tea). This tea is NOT bitter and does NOT need added sugar or sweetener. Enjoy if you decide to try it.

Excellent tea and wonderful price for such a high grade tea!! I cannot give an excellent enough report as to how good this tea really is----Also, It is packaged in a beautiful tin-------and it was delivered almost overnite--------I couldn't believe it when my daughter said she already had received her tea-----I bought it for her as a gift----she loves it-----I called her to let her know it was on its way, and she informed me she had rec'd it already!! Fantastic service!! ---and the REAL PLUS is we're buying from a Home Owned Company right here in the USA!!
