Better than the two part base
I have used the two part bases before. These are easier to use and cost less. I'm not very good at setting the pins in the proper place in wet concrete so I poured the footings and then drilled holes for the anchor bolts - worked great. Either way, these are great supports and elevating the posts is the way to go.

Good for deck posts
Two of these doing the job under my deck, concrete base and 6x6 PT posts. Easy to use.

GOOD TRANSITION FROM CONCRETE TO WOOD.
Used for deck posts. Fastened to concrete piers with bolt and nailed to 6 by 6 posts for deck. Permits builder to satisfy separation requirements between concrete and wood.

Mistakes were fixed IMMEDIATELY
Originally tool hardware shop had shipped me the Simpson ab66z and not the Simpson aba66z which I ordered and needed to use for this deck project. I called and explained the difference and that the delay would be a mjor problem (building a deck in October in Wisconsin) Their response was excellent, I had the replacements in 2 days and finnished the 2000 sq.ft. deck project before the first major snow. My customer is happy and so am I. I will use the Tool Hardware Shop again because they took care of me.

Great product
These post bases are a great product for keeping your post off the ground. Easy to work with. Heavy duty. Can't beat the price on Amazon either

Pricey but useful.
These are a bit costly but make using poured concrete piers easy. Just set a j bolt into the concrete poured pier and you have a good foundation for a deck.
