power switch is nice
I purchased this mainly because it has an on/off switch. I have a couple friends that *think* they burned up a USB port in their laptops by powering cooling pads. NOT any particular brand, just that they think the port was never intended to deliver constant power to such a device. I elected to utilize an old wall charger and purchase an long cable to power the pad from a wall outlet. It works great, and I need not worry about my laptop. (This may simply be an unfounded concern on my part but I would rather not take the chance. Note this would be a function of amperage, not voltage since the voltage on a USB port is standard. Milli-amp output may vary.)Something of note, between the time I purchased mine, and I recommended this to a friend, the design has changed. In mine, there are two USB ports and the power switch centered in the back. The one my friend got has one USB and the on/off switch on the right side near the back. Hers is already giving her trouble due to cable strain. (Off the left would have been better for her. In my case, coming off the middle back, I used some tape to create strain relief right away and it has been fine. Both hers and mine are the blue LED version and the pics reflects the new USB/switch location on the side. The red LED version still shows the rear USB/switch location.Fan noise is minimal and for my needs, it does a great job of keeping things cool. I am not a gamer so I cannot speak to heavy gaming use. The LED is not annoying as I thought it might be. You really don't see it when in use and I find it helpful to know it is on or off. It is stiff enough that I don't really get flexing, so no worries there. This cooler is serving duty with a small HP Spectre computer with a best of everything build. It used to get to warm for my comfort and this works as I hoped. If you are going to use this with a wall outlet, I might suggest some kind of strain relief for the cable right away. I'm using tape. Otherwise, pulling on the plug will eventually result in a failure as noted with the one my friend has.If TEKNET is reading this, a couple small holes in either end of the back to put a small Ty-Rap through would really be a nice addition. (To address the strain relief I mention.) Also, a power cable protruding off the back seems more practical for sitting on someones lap than a cord protruding off the side IMHO.

Works perfectly for me
I've only had it for a few hours but I'm so happy I bought this.I often use my laptop on my lap and it was burning my legs, it finally occurred to me to buy a cooling pad, duh! It's small (perfect size for my laptop) and very lightweight, which I love because I am often lifting my laptop on and off my lap.The USB connectors line up perfectly with the USB on my laptop so I use the shortest wire I could find, some people have complained that the one provided is too short but it was too long for me, much easier to not have a wire hanging off the side but I guess that depends where you USB input is.It definitely cools my laptop, it's really hot here (California in the summer) and I run my laptop for hours and it gets really hot but this completely cools it down, so I'm very happy. It's also comfortable on my lap and the top is grippy enough so my laptop doesn't slide around.I don't understand the need for the blue LEDs, to be honest I'm really sick of this current obsession with putting unnecessary bright lights and loud beeps on everything but in this case they are completely covered by my laptop so doubly pointless but not annoying. The only negative so far would be that the plastic is very thin and somewhat flimsy, that's why it's so lightweight but I don't know how long it will last, I feel like I need to be really careful with it because it will probably break very easily but as long as I'm using it the way I am I don't think that will be a problem for me.

TECKNET Laptop Cooling Pad
Pretty quiet. Works well. Fairly dense material - no flexing. No issues from the fans of powering. Decent price

Great product
Works exactly how I was hoping it would. My laptop was running very warm and this is great to keep it cool. I don't use it on the highest setting but its good to know it will be there if I need it. Its lightweight so it doesn't add to the weight of the laptop. I have a 15" so it's a bit heavier then most so this is great. Has great grippers so the laptop doesn't slide all over. I would recommend!

Worth the money
My laptop used to get very heat up due to gaming but this has helped it cool down and increased the performance. It’s well built and stable for my heavy laptop.

Good compact design with some drawbacks
I bought this product for a laptop cooling pad which (1) solve overheating problem, (2) can be used comfortably on my lap and in bed. There are definitely other brands which I think can provide more cooling power but may not be as user friendly when not being used on a desk.PROS:+ (Design) Compact design. Easy to move around.+ (Cooling) Not a lot of air, but enough to cool a XPS 13" laptopCONS:- (Noise level). Not loud-loud, but not good enough to be used in bed. A big deal breaker for me.- (Design): The laptop did not hold and kept slipping. The stopper did not provide enough friction.- (Design). Control knob. Too close to the USB cord and makes it hard to use. I never know which way to slide the knob for different speeds.- (Design). The blue led lights serve no purpose for me. But my 13" computer covers the whole area and it does not affect me. (That's why I chose to buy a smaller cooling pad).I am still undecided what to do with this cooling pad. My wife will probably decide for me since I am using it in bed most of the time. I am contacting the seller to see if the noise level is normal or if I got a lemon.
