Cruickshank’s London: A Portrait of a City in 13 Walks

I've been to London eight times during the past 42 years and I thought I'd discovered nearly everything of interest, but this book proved me wrong. Not only does it feature many very interesting walks, but there are also some nice photos. Further, the author's writing style is very informative. The only negative is that the book is quite heavy and therefore it's totally impractical to carry around - but still, it's a real pleasure reading this book and it has provided some great new information for me.

I love everything this historian writes and presents!

Have only read a few bits but this book.is fascinating especially for areas I do not know so well. The book should have been printed on better quality paper as the photos and maps are disappointing.

Much heavier than I thought it would be. Won’t be able to walk around London clutching it, but very interesting and well written.

Just spent a couple of days in Spitalfields and the City, brilliant book to have with me. Paperback copy is more manageable than the hardback though, while walking.
