I misplaced my original Alesis 9V AC power supply and rather than hunt through a slew of wall-warts trying to find the right one, I simply ordered this one knowing I will find the original tomorrow lol I did a bit or research and perusal of 9V AC power supply reviews to make sure I was getting the right one the first time. The plug receptacle on the SR-16 is a bit different size than a lot of power supplies standard plug size, but the T-Power 9V AC AC Adapter fit perfectly with no hassle. My other concern was that I was indeed ordering the correct voltage and current output which is of course 9V AC for the SR-16. No problem here either. It's almost as if the T-Power 9V AC AC Adapter is made for the SR-16. My Alesis SR-16 was powered up just minutes after receiving the delivery. Extremely happy customer!!

This solved alllll my problems. I bought a kit (DM10) secondhand and the adapter they gave me was not the correct one. It would turn on but no sound. All pads were firing at once. I was panicking! It was suggested on a Facebook group that I buy this and thank goodness! As soon as this was plugged in, the whole kit worked! I’ve been using it since Christmas and it’s been working perfectly. This is perfectly compatible with the Alesis DM10 studio mesh kit! It’s also significantly cheaper than if I bought the original on EBay! I’ve moved the kit around a few times and the cord/adapter is durable! I’ve never heard of an AC/AC adapter before, If you’re wondering how necessary it is, it’s 1000000% necessary. You NEED the AC/AC to make it work. (I added a photo from when I was using a regular 9v AC/DC adapter, it was making the module lag, and you can see all pads and rims were triggered, it produced ZERO sound)

This was the 4th or 5th power supply I ordered for my Alesis DM5 Drum kit. Should have gotten it first. Worked perfectly for Alesis DM5 Drum kit!

First, let me confirm that this adapter works with my Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine. In the picture, they don't show the plug that goes into the device (if they had, I might have picked a different one). The cable is a bit short, unlike the one that comes with the SR-16, wish it was a bit longer. The 90-degree plug is problematic because, at an angle, it covers up the foot switch jacks. Because of these 2 negatives, I only gave it 4 stars.

I had used another power adapter that by all specifications shoukd have worked fine with my alesis sr-16 (early 90s first gen) but had loud noise and I thought it was fried. Bought this adapter, now it works absolutely fine. Not all adapters are equal and you can’t just depend on the specifications sometimes, but this will absolutely work for an alesis sr-16 (again, the early 90d one. Later generations of that use something entirely different)

I ordered three of these and measured the voltage from two different DMMs. The first two measured between 11.58 and 11.86V AC. Well above the rated 9V AC. I have a third one on the way and expect it to be the same. Using a power supply this far above spec will cause premature failure of the voltage regulator in your gear! This photo is direct measurement from the second brand new power supply using my DMM. UPDATE: The third one arrived today and not only did it measure at 11.92V AC (see photo) but the transformer is oscillating or buzzing loudly. Three strikes for this product and I’m purchasing from another supplier!

Alesis DM5 user here, had my module stored for over a decade and couldn't find the cord and this worked perfectly! Simple plug and play use, durable feeling and it powered up my module without issue.
