Just bought these and I’m wondering if they are suppose to smell thus bad. Nearly gagged when I opened the package

I'm going to disagree with the other answers here. I've purchased sheep casings many times before and have NEVER smelled anything like what I smelled when I opened these sheep casings last night. I didn't almost gag, I gagged. It was terrible. I don't know what the deal is with these casings, but I know my family wouldn't have eaten sausages stuffed into these casings and neither would I, no matter how much soaking they went through.

Did these have an expiration date on the packaging?

I really can't remember if they have an expiration date. But you can freeze them and they will last a couple of years.
