I had a stubborn ant problem outside that seemed to be getting worse by the day. I applied the TERRO T600 Ant Dust around the problem areas in my yard, and I started seeing results almost immediately. Within 24 hours, the ants were either gone or clearly on their way out.I’ve also noticed fewer spiders and other bugs hanging around, which is a great bonus. The powder is easy to apply and doesn’t have a strong or lingering smell. I love that it works on so many types of insects, and the 1lb size goes a long way for outdoor use.If you’re dealing with ants or other pests outside your home, this stuff works. I’ll definitely be keeping this in my pest control arsenal from now on.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I went with this product because it had a lot of great reviews and was still pretty cheap. My townhome backs up to woods and I always get ants when it gets hot. I had sprayed raid initially but felt like I needed something better. I got this and dusted the entire perimeter and then sprayed raid in crevices inside and I have barely seen any ants! It’s worked so well!

This stuff is much better than the Terro pellets, which just sit around the affected areas and don't seem to do much at all. I coated down the few colonies I found around the yard this summer and within two days I wasn't seeing them anymore. After a weekly check and subsequently a small collapse of an unmaintained colony, I found it to remain effective at killing the colony. My only complaint is to be careful about the application site because this compound will either discolor or inhibit the grass from growing if applied on it.EDIT (10/1/14): This product does not kill the ants, but will instead irritate them so they do not want to be around it. The colonies I used it on just seemed to be resurfacing in other areas. As I confirmed, the EPA has more restrictions in the chemicals that can be used and these new versions are less effective in order to meet those requirements. I have used instead another remedy that is cheaper to make, but can be more harmful to small animals as well as small children. Borax powder and corn syrup do a wonderful job of killing off most types of Ants. Mix ~50:50 ratio of borax to corn syrup on a small piece of paper or piece of card stock and leave near the paths the ants use. The sugars attract them so they feed and bring the chemical back to the colony, killing the colony in the process. This version only works indoors and should not be used if pets or small animals can access it. For an outdoor remedy, sprinkle a small amount of borax powder at or near the mouth of the colony if visible. If needed, place some in the mouth of the colony and add a few drops of water to disperse the mixture and keep it from being removed from the hole. That produced results noticeable within an hour, compared to 24 hours or so of waiting for the Terro mix to kick in (which was only keeping them from using exits where the powder was placed, not killing them off).

I use this outside on my pavers ant mount popup between the bricks if left alonte ants will remove the sand below ground will settle and become uneven. Found this work best shaking right into the ant mound and around dust 1 inch around as dense as powdered donut. You can use it inside but low traffic areas like boiler/furnace room, not anywhere with kids or pets. Super effective at getting rid of ants. Washes away after heavy rain need to reapply.

My husband was in shock that finally something works on these flippin’ buggers! we have tried everything! from straight 30% vinegar, to natural concoctions to malathion, to ortho & other proclaimed ‘effective’ products… the little piles of sawdust or dirt whatever the brown sugar looking hills were, kept reappearing within 48 hrs..well, after shooting down Terro’s liquid ant bait inside the house traps that didn’t work whatsoever in my bathroom!!! i didn’t realize this dust for the crack where the driveway meets the garage was from the same manufacturer!i barely shook any out of the container last night — a very very light dusting! (see pic)well…at first my husband thought it had just attracked more & it looked like it by the massive quantities that must have came out of the crack! until i said … omg! they aren’t moving! they are dead!!!! at least a thousand or more, DEAD with one light dusting application! happened overnight in less than 24hrs.. the few anys that were moving were just twitching! (almost felt sadistic watching the remaining alive ones suffer, but they sure didn’t care how they terrorized us for years!)i would highly recommend this product!!! & it’s waterproof. altho’ i wouldn’t let my husband hose them away for a few hrs.. i intend to redust ever so lightly again because i tend to be anal when it comes to bugs.great purchase for a reasonable price!
