Great for Hot Yoga
This is a great mat for Hot Yoga, unlike TPE surfaces, you will have great grip. It is fairly thin, but I prefer this. It holds up as well as some of the higher-end mats for a more reasonable price.

This mat transformed my practice!
Love this mat! It is super grippy, light weight, and pretty. It's a bit on the thin side, but it's only a problem after extensive kneeling. My down dog is so much more satisfying now that I'm not always worried about slipping! I am a bit of a clean freak so i put it in my washing machine even though I know i shouldn't have but it survived, although i feel it is slightly less grippy now.

Perfect with a few personal adjustments!!
**update 12/5/18**After my initial review of the product, Jenny from heathyoga customer service contacted me and was more than helpful to resolve my situation. The customer service from this company is absolutely fantastic and with a few modifications I have come to love my pro grip yoga mat.I will be a continuous customer with heathyoga. After reading all the positive review on this mat I decided to get it a go. I had previously purchased a youphoria yoga mat. Got about 8 months out of it then I started slipping like crazy. After countless hours of research I came across the heathyoga pro grip mat. It had great review from RYTs and fellow yogis who seem to practice as often as I do. I wanted to give it a good month use before reviewing.Let’s start with the pros:The alignment markers are awesome. They have helped remind me of my form and serve as awesome marker for track progression. The company itself has amazing customer service. They sent care instructions through email and really seem they care about customer satisfaction. Again, I REALLY wanted to like this mat.The mat comes with an awesome carrying case, a few different ways to keep it rolled up, overall it was very very nicely packaged. Now, the cons:You’ll notice right when you take the mat out it has an awful chemical smell. They company does warn you about this and advises you wipe the mat down and let it air out for a day or 2 before use. So, that wasnt a HUGE deal to me.The corners do seem to curl up quite a bit, no matter how long I let the mat lay out for the edges just won’t lay down. It’s super annoying. May not be a deal breaker for all, but it irritates the heck out of me.The grip is well, not “pro” in my opinion. When I ordered this mat I though yes!!! I am so excited to have a super sticky mat. And boy was I disappointed. The first couple days the grip was pretty good. The second week it was alright, but now I have a hard time holding downdog without my hands sliding forward. Yes I use correct form and don’t rely 100% on the mats grip. That’s when the huge bummer set in.Then I remembered, I didn’t clean my mat like the manufacturer had said. Maybe this is what’s wrong! So I excitedly hurried and cleaned off my mat, let it dry and hopped back on. It was sticky! But only for about 30 minutes then I went right back to slipping around.I’m not sure if I received a defective mat or what but I am not super impressed with the quality. You do get what you pay for, so I’m really not that upset and don’t intend on returning the mat. I plan to use it until I just can’t stand it anymore.I think this mat would be great for someone that doesn’t practice yoga 6+ days a week 60+ minutes at a time. Maybe a great beginner mat, or someone with a small practice time. I will not be purchasing again in the future. Sorry heathyoga this mat just isn’t for me.

Sometimes less is more
This mat came really fast, and was packaged very well. It comes with a bag to store the mat, a Velcro strap and also a rope like strap, although I’m not sure what it was actually intended for. The color is nice, and as shown in the picture-it is the “cherry” looking one. I’m giving this a 3 stars because I feel like the “alignment” lines are bizarre, in my opinion, because they are placed in a strange way and it’s not really indicated what they are for. For the hands and feet in down dog, maybe? Or the knees for cat cow? I am not totally sure. I find myself trying to use them and figure it out but it really distracts me from the flow. Not a fan of that too much. It is(remotely)non-slip, as advertised; I personally still slide a tiny bit in downward dog but not in a sudden dangerous way. However, the “non slip” surface doesn’t easily allow for smooth foot transitions from lunge to plank for example; or for moving into one legged pigeon. I find my feet, or leg, getting stuck, for lack of better word when trying to move into the next position. I’m not a fan of how it smells, either. It doesn’t have a strange chemical plant smell like some other mats tend to have, but it has an indescribable smell that has not gone away and one I inhale while in child’s pose. It’s not all that pleasant. As others have reviewed, it leaves marks and stains-but to be fair, the manufacturers tell you how to clean those off because they seem to be aware of what they are giving us. I liked that. I also like how the bottom of the mat has a great grip so no sliding on the floor or ground. All in all, I have spent less money on other mats that don’t claim to have all the non slip features, that don’t claim to not have a smell(but do)and mats that don’t offer bizarre alignments lines that detour and distract from practice. For some, this may be the perfect mat and a great investment. For me, this mat is just ok, and hasn’t changed my practice in a majorly positive way; or in a terribly negative way either. It isn’t a bad mat, but simply overpriced with a ton of unneeded features to distract from that fact-the free bag, the straps, the alignment lines, the bright colors. I truly think I am going to stick to just buying the cheaper Giam mats that don’t give you anything but the mat, because that’s all you really need anyway. I’m not knocking the product, or trying to be unfair because it’s actually my fault for getting swept up in trying to buy something “better”. If you are like me, simple in your practice but wondering if buying a more expensive yoga mat will somehow be better, please go with another mat because this one isn’t it.

Great non slippery yoga pad!
I like the marks on the pad to guide in positions.
