I need a bag that will stand on end. since it folds flat, is it sturdy enough to stand even if the bag is not fully packed?

Yes yes yes !!! Just returned from vacation this bag is awesome

Flying on small planes in s. africa and the airline says bags must be soft sided with no more than one flat (rigid) side. how many rigid sides here?

Just the back side of the duffel is rigid, the sides and top are soft.

Will 50l be allowed to be carryon to a plane?

Dear Customer, whether it could be allowed to be carryon to a plane, it depends on each airline’s restrictions on luggage size. We kindly suggest you check the luggage size restrictions of the corresponding airline. Hope the above helps.

Do you offer monogramming?

No, we are sorry to tell you that we don't offer the monogramming.
