This is my first lawnmower ever so I don't have much to compare it to. That said, it's a lot lighter than I expected, especially considering how big it is. That may be due to the plastic deck. I did a lot of research on the deck material, and it seemed like plastic is the right choice. Steel ones may rust, and are much heavier. My only concern about the plastic was that it may not last long, but a lot of the reviews had mentioned their plastic decks lasting many years. It was very easy to adjust the height of the mower. It comes with 2 extra blades. Assembling the whole thing took just a few minutes. The charger is quite fast. The battery went from 1 bar to fully charged in less than 2 hours. It's been raining the past few days and I still haven't used it. This review is just regarding the build quality and the assembly. Will update after first use. Update: This was my first time mowing a lawn, and it was incredibly easy. Self-propel is nice to have and it works well, but I didn't even need it. The machine is light enough for you to push it without any issues. I mowed the lawn once with the height set at 8, and once at 3. Battery only lost one light after all that. With the handles folded, it will be quite small and easy to fit in whatever storage space you have. Very happy with everything so far. Update: Also mowed the backyard. The battery still has 1 bar of power. Worth mentioning that the machine is very quiet.

Great if you have mobility issues
So you know my situation and how it may pertain to you I am 66 years old and had a stroke in March I had just bought a gas mower Last Summer brand new and couldn't even use it before my stroke because the self-propelled was one speed and was dragging me around the yard so I had to push it which was fine back then to the present I just got this mower about 3 or 4 days ago and I have to say the delivery company not going to say who they are but it starts with an F which is totally appropriate I requested that they drop the mower behind my car so it was close to my garage so I can unpack it well I ended up trying to drag it across the yard to the garage and that wasn't very pretty anyway I love this mower ego has a new customer for life let me explain what I like and a couple of things I don't like so here goes my review I didn't expect much from a battery powered mower I had one back when they first came out years ago and I wasn't terribly impressed I don't remember the brand or anything but it made me go back to gas mowers until now the first thing I'm impressed with is the charger I have an e-bike and I have solar panels on my camper van that are lithium ion and I was afraid this fast charger wouldn't be good for the batteries I guess the battery shape the ark shape and the fan that cools the batteries makes a difference it charges fast and I have the 7.5 amp battery and since I can't push it I've been using the self-propelled on the lowest setting which is absolutely perfect for me because that's all the faster I can get my leg going I'm 5 ft 5 and the middle sitting on the bar is good but I use it on the lowest setting because I can't get my arm up high enough for the second setting but it doesn't matter because it's so light and the Propel works so well like I said it's just perfect for me I mowed my yard on the highest setting since it's summer and I just wanted to try it out it did a fantastic job cutting it used two bars out of four and did the whole front yard my property is 4,000 ft about 2,000 on the front and 2000 in the back I'm unable to make a space in the garage yet to stand it up but it's still wonderful I parked it in front of my car and I was able to put the handle down and it's not taking up any space until I can get room to stand it against the wall it's quiet although I know some people in the in the in the review seem to think it's loud I just agree on that point I have two minor things I don't like and trust me they're minor I wish the headlights had an LED on the by the push button to turn them on so you can tell if they're on or not you have to walk around the mower and look which is not a hardship it would just be nice to have an LED my second minor issue and I don't know if it's me or not but when the self-propelled goes even at the slowest setting the front wheels tend to come up about a half inch to an inch and I don't know if that's because I'm leaning on the handlebar some while it's trying to go so I can't say that's really a mower thing until I figure it out one thing I really like about it is if you get into a tight area or something you can't walk behind it you can actually walk alongside it and just push the self-propelled button and guide it along I obviously don't do that much but it's necessary where my yard meets the street I have to walk in the street and run the mower on the yard so it doesn't go down into the street I'm extremely impressed with this Mower and I would definitely recommend it a one other thing I found a screw in the box with the mower and I haven't been able to find out where it goes yet again not a big deal but I will have to search and look for a missing screw it looks like it's up by the threading it looks like a it goes to plastic so that's my review I figure if it works good for me it'll work good for anybody and I definitely think a kid could use it because as soon as you let go of the bail it stops oh and another thing I like is even when the blade is stopped it'll sell Propel itself back to the garage which I just love I hope this helps somebody out there

Was very skeptical, but now I am super impressed with this mower and the battery tech. LOVE IT!
My mower: LM2135SP POWER+ Mower 21" Select Cut™ System with Touch Drive™ Self-Propelled Kit (7.5Ah Battery) It came with an extra FREE 5Ah battery when I bought it. I'm in the honeymoon phase, but this mower has been amazing! I am DEEPLY impressed with my EGO battery tools, and this is coming from a heavy skeptic and heavy pre-purchase researcher. I was turned off by the stupid, modern aesthetics of the EGO mowers, but compared to everything else on the market, the EGO mowers seemed to get the best reviews. I am just annoyed by the modern, crinkly design aesthetic. The mower *could* be a smooth turtle shell design, which would be amazingly easy to clean with a single wipe. Instead we've got a plastic shell that has infinite creases, slopes, flats, valleys, hard-to-reach areas and whatever. But I guess that's what people like these days. So I grabbed this deal (with the FREE extra 5Ah battery, and I am so glad that I did! Firstly, this mower is way lighter than I was expecting. It looks like a monster in the listing, but it's actually extremely light. Love the front and rear handles, great design! I am replacing a 30 year-old Black and Decker corded electric mower, and this new EGO mower is much lighter. And yes, my corded mower lasted me 30 years! I bought it in 1995. I'm not expecting the same from the EGO, but it is often true that "they don't make 'em like they used to". My lawn is about 3000 square feet and it has lots of obstacles and crinkles, but is generally flat. This mower has a self-propelled mode that is nice and easy to use, but I mostly don't need it. You can easily push or pull this mower with one hand. My grass is not "lush" and the cut with the stock blade setup is excellent to me. Also, I have always bagged my grass, but now I have decided to just use the side discharge chute and HOLY MOLY I cannot believe how well this mower mulches. The grass coming out of the chute is almost like a powder. I'm not joking. This mower has way more power than I was expecting! You can hear the grass being sliced by the fast moving blades as you go. The design of the grass side chute, though, is surprisingly lame. It just kind of wedges in position with the rear, spring-loaded door just kind of lopsidedly holding it in place. Still works though. Love the 4 position handle, and the grass cutting height adjustment is crazy easy to use... but it was also easy on my old corded mower. Secondly, I was able to mow my entire lawn, trim my entire lawn, and clean up with a blower with a SINGLE 7.5Ah battery that had two full bars left over when I finished. Astonishing. (yes, I also have the EGO trimmer/blower combo) I have large oak trees in my lawn, and I have to be sure now to clear the lawn of the twigs and such that fall from these trees. The EGO mower is light for a reason... it doesn't feel like it could withstand having twigs smashed around on the underside. If I didn't clear the debris, I would expect to have cracked and holey plastic around the blades. But this is all just speculation at the moment. I do kind of wish the blade area was made of metal.

Lightweight, easy to push and maneuver but the self-propelled mode, high grass will eat battery power.
This is a very good mower. It comes assembled with the mulch blade and requires very little assembly.I mulch and I don't like bagging so if I had a second option it would be side discharge. It stores easy and It is light, maneuvers easy, and cuts very well and precise, easy to adjust cutting height and handle position. My only issue is the battery longevity - I have about 3/4's of an acre. and 2 batteries are not enough The bundle came with a 5.0Ah & 7.5 Ah with a stated runtime of 35-45 minutes and 45-60 minutes respectively -In reality you get about 80% of what runtime it claims, closer to 25-30 minutes & 40-45 minutes. Bottom line: be prepared to get another battery for a lawn of that size. The more you ask of the mower in self-propelled mode the battery drains very fast as it is very fast, actually too fast for the best cut. I only use the lowest setting which is ensures the best looking cut . Also, on flat lawns you really don't need to use the self-propelled feature at all. The mower is lightweight which makes handling around trees very easy. I am happy with the switch to electric. Just realize that the battery usage is your "gasoline" and they are good for several hundred recharges and then you will need to replace them and they are not cheap.

Great Electric Mower
I’ve been really impressed with the EGO POWER+ 21” self-propelled mower. It has plenty of power and cuts through my grass like butter with the double-blade setup. The self-propelled drive makes mowing much easier, and the 21” cutting width is a great size for getting through the whole yard quickly without feeling too bulky. It’s also surprisingly quiet while mowing, which is a huge improvement over a gas mower. The mower feels solid and well built, but it isn’t heavy and is easy to maneuver around the yard. I also really like that it can be stored upright, which saves quite a bit of space. Not having to deal with gas, oil, or a loud engine makes mowing much more enjoyable. For the performance, convenience, and build quality, I think it’s worth the cost and would definitely recommend it.

Great Mower
Love this mower! As a very petite 71-year-old woman, I find it much lighter and easier to maneuver than a gas mower, and I don’t have to deal with the extra cost of gas, especially with prices constantly rising. My front yard has a bit of a hill that was always a challenge with the gas mower, but this one handles it with no problem. The battery lasts plenty long enough, charges quickly, and requires no assembly—just unfold it from the box. I also love the mulching feature; it does a fantastic job.

Game Changer
Love this. Was reluctant to replace my earlier EGO after little more than five years, but it wasn't cutting evenly. (WORD TO THE WISE: CLEAN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR MOWER. I had tons of caked grass accumulated which took an ice scraper to get off. That itself may have impacted cutting performance on the old one.) Nevertheless, the propulsion is amazing. You can control how fast it goes, and it can go VERY fast. I just turned 68 and this will ease the lawn wowing burden considerably. Also, the old 5.0 batteries fit (the new one is 7.5). And while I tested it out with an older 5.0 battery, the new once charged incredibly fast -- maybe 20 minutes. Also, has an iphone holder so I no longer have to fight with my pocket and corded head phones.

What a difference from gas!
I love this lawn mower. I bought it to replace my old honda easy start. Old reliable lost its title. The transmission was dead. And replacing it was going to be close to $200. So we made the choice to go on and buy this mower. The only thing I dislike so far is the power drive. It takes about 5 seconds to actually kick in. But once it's on, you're nearly running behind this mower. I like that you can adjust the speed of the mower without affecting the way it mows. The bagger works really well. It packs grass into it, like when I go to put it in my compost, it's hard to get it started because of how much it packs it. The bag isn't great quality, it developed a hole by the handle in the first season. I used it for bagging fallen leaves in the fall. I noticed the bag fills very fast with leaves. Use a tarp in the area you're clearing. Dump the bag onto the tarp. Once the tarp is full. Grab each corner and make it into a "bag" then drag it to your compost or bag it in lawn and leaf bags from there. The battery lasts me about half my acre property. But my yard isn't a rectangle. Anything but. It's hilly, oddly shaped. It has beds in the middle of the lawn. I took the manufacturers recommendation, and I mowed in strips. I found starting from the middle of the yard is the best way to tell what is cut and what is not. You can easily see where the last pass was. Just follow the path of the outer wheel and mow a turn around strip(or 2) so you're not fighting yourself at the end of every strip. This mower is LIGHT. I can push it by hand! In difficult spots you can easily turn it off by taking your hands off the controls and just pulling it out of the tricky situation. My Honda, wouldn't allow it to move if you didn't have the transmission engaged. The wheels would lock. Another incredible thing with electric mowers, you ran over something now it's making a weird noise. With gas you can't flip it over and check it out. Everyone tells you not to. Not so with electric. It makes a funny noise, turn it off and flip it right then and there, dislodge the branch or item and you're back to work. With the gas I had to somehow drag it to the garage, stuff a rag in it, flip a heavy machine over. I hated it. Took an hour to fix a simple jam. Also switching from a gas mower to electric, the sound is so different. It's quiet. I have social anxiety and dread mowing the lawn. The noise reduction made it a lot less intimidating. I like that you can store it on it's side too. It has a very useful phone holder for when you don't have pockets. It makes it easy to access and secure. The zipper makes it open very safely and my phone's never fallen out of it. I love this mower. I have 3 more batteries I keep charged up, and I only use 2 for my yard. I'm not sure what size the batteries are. I use them for my ego 18inch chainsaw and this mower. I thought this mower was supposed to have an aluminum deck but it seems to be plastic. Other than that , great tools so far. I highly recommend upgrading from gas to this mower.

I like it
Had an elderly Honda 53 which became rusty. I thought of a straight replacement as it had served me well. Which? referred me the Ego. I was pleasantly surprised to find a 53. It is about 10 kilos lighter which was a big plus as i grow old. The collection bucket seems to hold more than previous mower which saves time and mess. Little bit tricky to get accustomed to controls. I live on a slope and lawn is not straightforward but i find it easy and quick with the Ego. The battery easily copes. I have only used the Ego 5 times but so far seems an excellent purchase.

Lightweight
First lawnmower I’ve ever owned and it’s fantastic. It’s light, no cord, mulches grass and being self propelled is amazing. I love it. I have a huge lawn so it takes me 3 charges to do my spot. I don’t mind that as it forces me to take a break while recharging. I’m pleased and impressed.

Great!
Wow! Love this mower. Worth every penny. Really heavy getting out of the box, but I finally managed to cut the box apart enough to wheel it out. Minutes to put it together and charge the battery. What I really love is how easy it is to put the battery in the mower and take it out to charge. My other battery mower was NOT easy. Quite the struggle. No more! The self propelled feature is a life saver....still only using it at its lowest speed though while I get used to it. I would recommend this mower without hesitation.
