Special FX Powder - TRAIL DUST, Fake Dirt Makeup, 75 oz

I bought this Mehron Stage Dirt/Ash to make my son’s choir costume look weathered and dirty for a performance, and this stuff is legit. It went on super easily, looked incredibly realistic, and most importantly — it didn’t smear or wear off during the entire event. It’s got a light, powdery texture that’s easy to build and blend, whether you want just a light dusting or something heavier and more dramatic. I used a 1/2 inch painting brush to apply it to his costume, and it looked exactly like I wanted it to. No weird smell either, which was a bonus. If you’re looking for something to add realistic dirt, soot, or ash effects for a costume, theater production, cosplay, or even Halloween, this is a solid buy. Very impressed and would absolutely use again!

I know Mehron is a powerful makeup brand amongst performers but I really put this to the test last weekend and am delighted with the results. Powder saturation is realistic and has amazing staying power. Feels natural, almost invisible, going on. Looks appropriately dirty on clothing, and happily washes out with one launder. On my skin, I wore it on 45% of my body. After showering once, I still had some residual color on ineffectual places, but that should only serve as testament to its staying-power. And maybe it could also be a damning indictment of my bathing skills. Jury's still out.

Make sure you check it on your skin first before using because it may make you itchy. Aside from that I would definitely recommend it. You can also use a face primer and setting spray to keep it in place, but largely unless you forget and touch it, it’ll stay. I wore it in the rain and had no problems I used this for the Norse Viking make up and Halloween make up and I have no complaints. Had lots of compliments! Blends well with eye shadow too!

This stuff is really great! And boy does it stick to you skin, spilled some next to water and my hands were red for like 4 days. Its a very red rust color though so if ur looking for something to just dirty ur look up a bit this isnt really ganna help.

Works great. Much better when mixed with water. Just so you know did not wash out of clothing.

This makeup is fine, but it started fading and running from just a few hours of use. I didn't really set it, but I wasn't expecting it to run so bad after such a short time, compared to thought the day.

This worked just like I needed but it was more red than I expected. That was my fault though. The product was great :)

At first I was a bit sad when I opened this as the colour is quite orange when used dry. However, when mixed with water this dirty becomes a lot muddier and is perfect when applied with a toothbrush (flicking the mixture on to skin or clothing.) I love Mehron and thankfully this dirt didn't let me down, it's perfect for the price and a little pot will last through many fancy dress, SFX or craft projects.

A little goes a long way. Used for actors in a bomb blast scene. Very effective.

It creates a messy look (I used it to look like a miner), but be careful where you apply it because it stains carpets and clothes
