Tire Deflator Kit Universal Adjustable Pack of 4 Automatic for Cars, Trucks

After using these for a while, I have come to the conclusion that pre-setting PSI is a waste of time. As you get closer to the pre-set air comes out more slowly and I couldn't get the preset exactly where I wanted and i nay case I may change from 20-15 depending on the trail. Instead I use the wide open, know from experience how long they take and then check and do the last few PSI manually. This is quick, just a few mins to get from 40 down to 18 on 33x12.5 tires. I would use expensive ones the same way. These are solid and never had an issue after years of use. The metal container is nice too.

Nice device. It was easy to set all 4 valves, and now my time to deflate at the beach is much reduced. The valve took the pressure down the amount I set.

Knowing that there are well known brands that are costly, I figured I would try these and worst case could keep them as a spare set for friends as long as these were accurate enough. I use these to deflate my Jeep's tires for off roading and sand dunes. I followed the instructions and had no problem with setting them initially to 15psi (goal). I then inflated the tire and tested each deflator, they were all within 3psi of one another after a second adjustment, and that's good enough for me. I use a racing grade tire pressure gauge that I'll use to fine tune each tire to exactly what I want (somewhere below 15psi), which is why these meet my needs perfectly for the price. going through another adjustment cycle could get them tighter to the desired psi, I just got them good enough for my needs. I highly recommend these, low cost, works well. Gauging against friends who have similar sets from other makers, these may be a bit slower to deflate, but if I'm getting all four tires at the same time, and not bending over for 10 minutes, I still win. Great for any offroader. Decreasing tire pressure for offroading/sand increases the tire contact patch size, thus improving traction on difficult terrain.

These deflators work great. I’ve been using them for 3 months now. The set up is a little tedious but once you get it they are done. I dropped my tire pressure manually the first to the desired pressure. Then threaded the deflator on the valve. Then dialed the adjuster till it was right where I wanted (11 psi). Then repeated that step with the remaining three on that same tire. Then threaded them on the other three full tires as a test and they work and have been working perfectly ever since with no adjustments needed. The big thing is to not leave them on when driving. Pressure surges from bumps, sticks, rocks, ect will cause a pressure spike and they will burp air every time that happens. So just air down, take them off, replace valve caps, put delayers away ar give them to your buddy to help speed the air down process along.

Durable, buily to last.

These are not very accurate, and they have a hard time shutting off when they’ve reached the pressure you set for them. They drain really fast as first, but then they drain air really slow as they get close to the set point, and then they just continually drain and seemingly never stop. I wasted a lot of time to get these set up. I finally had them set so I could put them on a tire at the correct pressure and no air would come out. So I figured they were good to go. When I tested them on full tires, I waited over 10 minutes for them to stop draining air (only going from like 38psi to the set point 30psi). I finally pulled them off and saw they drained the tires to 28psi and were still draining. The biggest problem is they just start going so slow when they get close to the set point, and they will go past it because they don’t shut off automatically. This past time when I used them it didn’t bother me very much about what exact pressure my tires were at. These were set to 30 and they got me to 33 before I pulled them off because I don’t have all day and I don’t trust them to stop at 30.

I have been 4 wheeling, off road racing and professionally rock crawling for over 20 year and now own my own shop. These deflators are as accurate as any i have used. The only criticism that I can give them is that they take slightly longer to deflate than the more expensive ones I have used, the setting instructions could be better written and there is a of lack instruction on fine tuning. This is how I set deflators for myself and my customers, regardless of brand: First, setting any delator takes time and patience, so it is a good task to do while you are doing something else on your rig out in the shop. Set a tire to your desired deflation pressure with a known-accurate, professional dial gauge, the same gauge that you will carry in your rig. These are a good investment compared to the cost of replacing a tire due to an inaccurate pressure reading. Back the lock nut on the deflator off, then screw the deflator on to the valve stem. Make sure the shop is quiet, put your ear close to the deflator and slowly unscrew the cap until you hear air escape. Screw the the cap back in until no air is escaping. Tighten the lock nut finger tight without turning the cap. Remove the defalator and air the tire back up to road pressure. Re-install the deflator and leave it for a good while until you cant hear any air escaping. This can take 7-8 minutes. Remove the deflator and check the air pressure in the tire. It will probably be within 1-3 psi. from your desired deflation pressure. Carefully loosen the lock nut and adjust the cap. Screw it in clockwise to increase pressure, screw it out counter-clockwise to decrease pressure. It only takes a very small amount of rotation to adjust the valve, 1/16th to 1/8th of a turn to adjust 1 psi. With practice, you will get a feel on how much to turn it. Re-inflate the tire to road pressure and install the deflator. After waiting for it to deflate, recheck the pressure. Re-adjust the cap and repeat until you have reached your exact desired deflation pressure. Once you have all four adjusted, carefully tighten the lock nut with two pair of pliers being careful not to rotate the cap. Retest to verify your final setting. I have not had any problems, but it would make sense to double check the pressures after using the deflators the first few times on the trail. Zag's Garage, Glendale AZ

Takes a lot of work to adjust precisely. It you want your tires within +/-0.5psi, expect to use a gauge. Still, the price is right and it does save time. To work the best you need to be consistent. Start on one corner and work around installing the deflaters, Wait a set period of time, and then remove in the same order you installed them. This will get the most consistent results. Finish up with a gauge to get all tires the same. Calibration: When you get the deflators, open them up and make sure there is no machining chips in them (I found chips in one of mine). I lubricated the internal piston and spring with a little petroleum jelly which improved the consistency and kept the spring from snagging when you adjust the deflater. It is pretty easy to get them adjusted to +/-1.5psi in 30 minutes. If you want more precision, the calibration time goes up exponentially.

I adjusted each valve to stop releasing air at about 20 psi then fine tuned the higher ones down so they were about the same. I timed 10 minutes to go from 34 psi (35x12.5x17 tires) to about 20 psi. Don't have to monitor and I can do other things/ No problems.

The other person must’ve had a dud, because a quick YouTube search clearly explains how to set these. Yes, they are not as cleanly packaged nor do they come with instructions. So far though, they work as designed. To save you some time here’s the steps to set them up. 1 - deflate your tire to your desired PSI using a gauge 2 - screw the retaining nut and head all the way in (righty tighty) (one can assume this is 6PSI) 3 - install deflator on valve (air will come out, that’s the point don’t panic) 4 - unscrew head until air stops coming out (lefty loosy) 5 - screw the retaining nut out to hold your settings in place. 6 - re-do for all three remaining 7 - look in your recycling for some foam 8 - cut it to fit the case 9 - store the case 10 - carry on with life I hope this helps, this is seemingly a great product. Time will tell, the lower points are because it’s not delivered as displayed. But if you frequent Amazon you know this is common. If you want things to be as displayed, then Amazon isn’t for you.
