mophie juice pack for Samsung Galaxy SIII (2,300mAh) - Black

Everything about this is exactly as advertised. It was just what I needed. If it were possible to put even more battery into it, of course that would always be welcome. But as it is, it roughly doubles my overall battery life, which really helps at the most important times.Operation is completely straightforward - activating/deactivating phone charging from it is a physical switch, and there's a button that when pressed will light up LED's indicating the case's remaining battery charge. And, when charging the case with the phone in it, the phone will charge in parallel with the case without having to even flick the switch. (One slightly odd thing is that the USB charging plug goes into the case "upside down" relative to other devices. Usually the logo on the cable plug would be face up, but for this device it's face down. I only mention it because otherwise it could be confusing why the plug won't go it.)In terms of holding the phone, it's a very snug fit (which is good), and it wraps around all corners of the phone. An added plus is that it relieves the phone's data/charging port from constant wear and tear of plugging/unplugging. I haven't tried a "drop test" yet (either intentional or unintentional), so I don't have data on protection - however, it feels like a solid case, so I have confidence in it.

There's absolutely NOTHING I don't enjoy about having this case! The top pops off to allow the phone to slide down into the case. Once seated, it fits very snug and doesn't slide or shift at all.The case is made of a hard rubber. I enjoy this because I found the Galaxy S III a little difficult to handle with it's glossy finish combined with it's very thin design. With the contoured case (it is rounded on the back to fit in the palm better!), it is now about twice as thick and adds roughly 1/2 an inch in length - neither of which bother me in the slightest. Now I don't have to worry about handling my phone so carefully! Plus, the extra battery allows me to run everything on my phone as much as I want without worrying about rationing my battery use. Awesome!The fellow who mentioned the buttons on the side for power and sound buttons rattling --- mine also rattle, but just barely, and only when shaken, at that. Who shakes their phone on a normal basis anyway? The most I could see this bothering someone is to take away 1 star.Solid design, solid materials, solid product. I recommend to EVERYONE who owns a Galaxy S III.

I want to first give a disclaimer that I only paid 17 dollars for this case instead of the MSRP price of 99 dollars. Being that you can buy them now for around 30 dollars, I won't be judging it based on its original price. That being said, I really like the black matte version that I purchased. The white glossy version is slippery and gets dirty easily. The black matte also seems to have less problems than the white glossy (you can verify that by checking the reviews on amazon :) The charge takes about 4 to 6 hours so I charge it overnight. NOTE: for some reason this will not charge your galaxy S3 from 0 to 100% ( even though the battery pack has more power than the original battery. However, the battery pack in the case has 2 purposes:- Standard Batt: Turn battery pack on after charging both phone and case to 100%. The mophie case now becomes the main battery pack, and the s3 ccomes the backup. Being that the mophie drains first before the s3 it will last longer and is recommended for heavy use days- Reserve Batt: If you aren't using the phone heavily, its recommended to just turn it on when you need it. However I wouldnt turn it on below 20% or so as this charges slow, and doesn't recharge it to the full value ( it goes from about 20-75% for me )Overall the juice pack is nice. It does add bulk, but the curved design fits the hand nicely. The current price is way more appropriate for the build quality of the juice pack, which is no where near $99.00. I would definitely recommend buying this at its price now.

So far this has worked very well. Doubles my battery life and should be great for my next hiking trips, where the single battery would start to die towards the end of the day, sometimes in the middle of nowhere. The extra attachment to the phone with the extra battery feels very solid and meshes very well with the phone to provide a slightly thicker and larger case. The micro USB connector you have to be careful with. It feels very tight and I worry about pressing too hard and maybe damaging it, so you have to take a bit of care in aligning and pushing, but so far no problems. Overall I like it very much so far and it should be very useful for S3 owners who are happy with this old phone and want to keep it for a while longer. The price is certainly right.

Great item. Worth its price. The charging works great. The case is strong. I have had it for a few months now and the phone has had some good drops on the floor. Its held up well. The one side of the case is cracked but still holds well. Its definitely done the job and saved me from having to replace the phone after a few good drops.
