Makes inserting a hitch a lot easier, and safer
Works remarkably well! I have a heavy hitch assembly that incorporates connections for a trailer load leveling system, and the whole thing is a big, heavy and poorly balanced hunk of metal. Getting it installed on my pickup truck was always a pain - literally, a pain in my back. This device allows me to easily pick up the hitch assembly with one hand and guide it into the hitch receiver on the truck. It balances the load, making the whole process a lot easier. Highly recommended.

I didn't need this...it was an impulse buy...but wow, where has it been all my life?!?!
Ok, so this was a total impulse buy. I had it on my wishlist for a while as a curiosity. I was ordering some "add-on" items, and had just a few minutes left to get my order in to hit my delivery target, so I said what the heck, and added this to my cart to get above the minimum order amount for the add-ons.It just came, and I took it out. First impression was it was lighter and smaller profiled than I had imagined...I had figured in itself it was going to be some heavy-ish tool, but it's not. I had a minute, so I figured I would give it a try. My equal-i-zer hitch (which is a fairly meaty hitch) was stowed in my trailers storage compartment. I remember thinking when I ordered it "eh. I will still probably need to pull it out of the compartment before using this"...wrong. The profile is small enough I was easily able to slip it over the ball while in the compartment. I didn't even have to re-position the hitch first, just grabbed onto it where it lay. My other preconception was "ok, how much of a balancing act is it to carry it around with this?". I had visions of carrying it and it slipping off and bouncing off the pavement. Again, the design proved me to be worrying needlessly...the way it is designed, it slides onto the ball and cradles it with virtually no effort on your part to keep it in place. I lifted it one hand out of the storage compartment and literally exclaimed out loud to myself "oh my gawd...what didn't I have of these 20 years ago?!?!?!?". I felt like I could have carried the thing down the road one handed, no problem. This thing is amazing. To give you some background...I don't need this, I don't have back problems, I am strong enough to lift the hitch just fine. But this tool absolutely eliminates the awkward carrying that you typical have grappling with these things. I say I am strong enough to lift just fine without it normally, but to clarify, I am not a muscled athletic build either. This thing absolutely helps, positioning the center of gravity of the hitch optimally for a carry. And not only carrying it, but it was much easier to use this to get it out of my storage compartment without wrestling with it.Get this. Even if you think "I don't need it". Just get this. It is so worth the money. I am really excited to have added a useful tool like this to the mix!

Great tool!
It says for use on 2 5/16" ball but I got a 2" ball on my Curt #17050 WD hitch. I doubted that it would work based on innerwebs reviews but was surprised when it did! It grips the ball just like the pictures and the tool itself makes a hard job easy. Very cleaver!

Must have addition for heavy hitch stingers
This is a simple yet genius tool that has allowed myself and spouse to be able to handle those heavy hitch stingers! This compact, ergonomic tool makes lifting and moving heavy hitch stingers a breeze. No more awkward lifting, back strain, or pinched fingers. It securely clamps onto the hitch ball, giving you a sturdy handle to safely maneuver the stinger without breaking a sweat—or your back. What I love most about the HitchGrip is how it combines safety and ease of use for everyone—whether you’re a man or a woman. It takes the strain and awkwardness out of handling heavy hitches, making the process safer and more manageable for all. Whether you're hitching or unhitching an RV or travel trailer, this tool ensures you can do it confidently and without worry. It takes a little finessing to figure out how to get the clamp just right on the ball, but after a few times it's a breeze! For reference we have 2 hitches - Curt and Husky with 2 5/16 hitch ball(s) and works on both!

Works well
A good tool for grabbing and moving your high head. Latches on easy and reduces your contact with the greasy bits.

Awesome camping gadget
This ha been on my camping list for awhile and I finally added it to an order the other day on a whim. It's amazing. It doesn't make the hitch head any lighter but it sure does make it easier to mvor around. No more touching the greasy ball, it can all but be removed from and put back in the receiver single handed using this tool. It's light weight and small, I keep it in my camper front storage bay. Physics are your friend and this just does what it says it does, no complicated directions. It fits my standard 2 5/8 weight distributing hitch ball as it should.

Works well for this old guy!
Made handling the heavy reciever hitch much easier. Still heavy but this allows one handed carrying with a flat trajectory to install into reciever.
