This tape is great, it sticks really well but also easy to tear with fingers. I think it may be possible to use when shipping registered but I have not tried this.... the surface of the tape is not slick or waxy and is somewhat absorbent when writing, and a black permanent marker won't smear after 10 seconds.

I recently had a move and bought some of this brown box tape at the U-Haul store. I was shocked how easy it was to tear this off the roll by hand, apply it, and how well it adhered to the box. Just that perfect sticky-enough to hold strong, but easy to peel off if needed.Unlike many two inch tape, it's easy to start, easy to hand tear, easy to apply, sticks well and easy to take off too. When you've got many boxes to tape, having a tape that "works" without struggle makes a difference.

I found this tape to be a good value and use it regularly. The tape is extra sticky and not easily peeled away so be sure you want to leave it once applied.
