This is what I like to see in a product
So let me set this review up with the setup that this product was implemented into as it is not a A to B simple run of the mill setup. I have a NVIDIA 780 video card running from my pc going to 3 computer monitors in an expanded desktop display. I also have a Sony 55W800B television that I want to mirror my main middle pc monitor while receiving sound and video and still keep the extended display going. So 1 hdmi cable is going to my left most monitor, a dvi-d cable going to my right most monitor, and an hdmi cable going to the input of this splitter. On the splitter itself, output A goes to my middle main pc monitor and output B goes to my sony tv (input 4) via hdmi. The results: Perfection. All video and sound is passed through (of what should be on my middle monitor) to the middle monitor itself and the tv. I use this mainly for 2 purposes - steam gaming on the big screen and to play movie files from my hard drive on the big screen with ease. ALSO this passes HDCP 1.0/1.1/1.2 signals which is extremely important (and something that is not featured on most of the other $100 and lower hdmi splitters). Also 3d passthrough works perfectly in my tests also! I have been running this device for about 2 weeks now with no issue. I cannot comment on the longevity of this device in all honesty, but based on other reviews, it holds up extremely well in the long run (and the warranty covers the few duds out there). As a Network and Electronic Engineer by profession in my career, I am a fan of J-Tech and believe in their products. I am extremely impressed with the build quality and feature set - and it JUST WORKS! This is what I like to see in a product. One more thing to note is that this is encased in a metal box and not plastic which is better when heat is a concern. Excellent choice. I would love to test their other products out in the various setups I have in the future.

It does the job!

A Solid Item
The splitter is of solid construction. Linked it up to my two tvs. No problems and issues.

Splitter not what I expected
You can duplicate displays, but you can't extend them I recently tested the J-Tech Digital HDMI Splitter, which features a 1 input and 2 output configuration. Note that the splitter does not come with an HDMI cord, so I used my own. I didn't realize that this splitter wasn't able to split to three monitors. During my testing, the device successfully extended signal to my second monitor without any issues. However, when I tried to connect a third monitor, the splitter only duplicated the display from the second, rather than extending the desktop. This means that I could only view the same content on both outputs, which isn't what I needed for my multi-monitor setup. So, if you want to expand your workspace across multiple monitors where each screen displays different content (for instance, setting up displays 1, 2, and 3), this product may not be the best fit for you. That said, it might work well for someone with needs more aligned with duplicating displays. Overall, while the splitter performed reliably, it simply didn’t meet my expectations for extending my desktop across multiple monitors.

Works perfect to split my cable signal to another TV
Bottom line - the product is high quality and works great at a great price. If you want the full story to see if it will work for your special AV situation, please continue reading (it's going to get a bit messy though...). I use two of these so I don't have to have multiple cable boxes and I can change channels or watch recorded programs from any of three rooms (none far away). I have 1 splitter from my main cable box, which uses a 25' flat HDMI cable to reach my 32" computer monitor / TV in my office / living room (COVID issue). Then I have another HDMI splitter that feeds the 32" TV and a wireless HDMI extender to reach my other TV across the room in my kitchen. The first HDMI splitter 1) goes to my 4K TV in my bedroom, then 2) goes into the next splitter to feed the two downstream FHD TVs (Full HD, 1920 x 1080). On the 2nd splitter, I don't think it would work to drive a 4K TV on the other side because it has a 25' HDMI cable running from one splitter to another splitter, which splits the signal a second time, with one TV direct and the other being extended via wireless HDMI extender. I know it sounds complicated - but it all works exactly as I need and desire - 2 down-line FHD TVs in different rooms that I want to control from one cable box. By the way - I change channels from the other room using a "BAXF Products" infrared remote extender. That works perfectly too - just like I was in the room with the cable box. I won't get into the convex mirror I use to get additional range for the channel changer that someone at work gave me to see behind me in a cubicle... :-)

I've tried two brands, AND I'D RECOMMEND YOU AVOID THIS ONE
HDMI splitters are critical, esp. if you're hosting a Super Bowl party and need your HD 720 p projector AND LCD TV working in parallel off of one input device. So I went with the J-Tech, based on reviews. I'm fully aware of the "hand-shaking" approach, where powering the splitter, plugging input and output devices, and powering the input and output devices should be done in a specific sequence in order to assure a) great splitting of the video and b) splitting of the audio. Well, going by this sequence (1. Power up splitter, 2. Plug in input device, 3. Plug in one of the output devices, 4. Plug in the other output device, 5. Power on input device, 6. Power on output devices), it worked like a charm. I've also done the following sequence and everything worked fine: 1. Plug in input device, 2. Plug in one of the output devices, 3. Plug in the other output device, 4. Power on the splitter, 5. Power on input device, 6. Power on output devices. BEAR IN MIND that the instructions oversimplify, so mind the "hand-shaking" for the order of inputting devices and powering stuff on. But here's the kicker... day of the Super Bowl THE SOUND WENT KAPUT. The video split, but no audio coming out of the TV OR from the projector. NO AUDIO FROM THE OUTPUT DEVICES. Luckily, that week as a backup, I bought the Sewell Direct splitter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007WR0CHU/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It works with one hiccup: No matter HOW you do the handshake (and I've heard that it could be because of splitting between a Sony LCD TV and HD projector), audio will ONLY come out of the TV and not out of the projector. Whatever, I could live with that. I used this same Sewell splitter last year for the Super Bowl and had the same result (split the video, but not the audio). But after hooking the TV to a sound system, it made no difference. So... 1) Why the J-Tech just stopped working by not providing ANY audio from any output device on the 4th day, I have no idea. 2) The lesser of the two evils would be the Sewell, because at least I'm still getting audio out of the TV, while getting great picture quality on the TV AND HD projector 3) In case you're wondering, my input device was my FiOS box. Just FYI, the Sewell works great with a Roku as the input device too. 4) A few weeks in, Sewell is still working as mentioned before. Agreed, it stinks that the audio doesn't split. But best to have audio from the TV and no audio from the projector as opposed to NO AUDIO AT ALL.

So Simple its a splitter not a switch
After reading some of the reviews I was a bit nervous. However, this could not have been more simple and accomplished exactly what I wanted and expected. I wanted to be able to watch my directv box on two televisions on opposite sides of the same wall, one in my bedroom the other the master bathroom. I expected to only see the same thing on both TVs and that is exactly what I wanted. So many of the negative reviews on this item are simply from faulty expectations. This is a splitter, not a switcher. It splits an input signal for display on two output devices. It has no buttons switches or controls. Both televisions must support the display of the input signal. I.E. both 720P or 1080P It has no ability to allow one TV to display something different (channel or resolution). It will mirror the one input signal to both output devices. You will see the same image on both displays. It cannot allow you to connect two monitors two your computer and display a different image on each device. If it were not for these misinformed unable to read reviewers this thing would have an even higher rating than it does. The only fear I still have is that the device may fail after six months two a year which would not be cool, but then again is was only an Andrew Jackson, not a Benjamin, and it has a one year replacement warranty. It was supper easy to setup, I connected an HDMI cable, used the Twisted Veins cables awesome, from my HD Receiver to the Jtech input. Connected another HDMI cable to the television and one of the Jtech outputs. Finally, I connected the other output to an HDMI cable which went to an HDMI keystone through the wall and out another HDMI keystone to the second television. Both televisions are 1080P capable and display the signal perfectly. If you want to output different signals two 2 or more televisions, you need multiple inputs, HDMI cannot carry multiple channels. In this case you are looking for an "HDMI matrix switch". If you want to be able to switch input devices on a single television look for an "HDMI switch". This is a splitter it works the opposite direction. Hopefully that helps someone click the button if it does.

Was exactly what I was looking for!
The whole reason I bought this was for my Xbox One. In my current setup I have a monitor and a TV I like to game on. The monitor is in a dual monitor setup at my desk with my laptop and I have it set so that I can also play Xbox One on the secondary monitor. Originally I left it like this until I came across a dilemma I've faced a few other times. If I want to play multiplayer (locally) or sit somewhere other than my desk, the monitor is less than ideal to game on due to its smaller size than the TV and the distance from the monitor (when sitting anywhere other than my desk). For these circumstances I obviously prefer to game on the TV, but I got tired of switching the HDMI cables back and forth so I bought some cheapo Chinese made splitter that served the purpose, however it brought all kinds of distortion into the mix to the point it was unusable. After a bit of research I came across this particular product and learned that a powered splitter was what I needed. So I purchased this. I added it into my setup and it works great. I have the option of displaying my Xbox One on either my monitor, my TV, or both, completely distortion free and with no HDMI swapping. Just a simple input change on my monitor/TV is all is needed now. Works great for what I use it for and I scoured through the reviews hoping to see beforehand if anyone was in a similar situation and found success with this product. I'm back to report to anyone who might come across the same problem that this works great! Actually considering buying a few more for the same purpose with different consoles in the near future.

Image is perfect, as if there were no splitter installed
Needed to split the HDMI out of my receiver to a TV (Kid's video games) and a projector (Movies on white screen) without messing around with cables. This product just does the job perfectly. I shall add that the TV is at the end of a 50 ft long HDMI cable, so I was worried I would either have no signal or image quality issue. Fear not. Image is perfect, as if there were no splitter installed. And the price is right!

I’ve had this product for two weeks now and so far it’s been working beautifully. I’ve tried so many other splitters before this
I have been looking for a headache free HDMI Splitter for a long time and I finally found it. I’ve had this product for two weeks now and so far it’s been working beautifully. I’ve tried so many other splitters before this and always encountered a problem within three days. Usually it’s the HDMI handshake issue. Basically all I wanted to do is not necessarily have multiple displays on simultaneously but rather split my cable signal into the TV directly (for a simple setup for the wife) and the other signal to go through my (AMP) for my theatre setup. This product has so far proven it’s reliability. Finally found a splitter that works!

Does the job perfectly
Having and using this unit for the last 5 months and more, no problem, works great and does not appear to affect video quality nor the sound

Works perfect for exactly what I intended
Bought this HDMI splitter for my Xbox One. I wanted the TV to be watchable by the wife when I wasn't home without needing to turn on or deal with the Xbox One. Then when I was home, I watch TV through the Xbox One and was tired and having to move the HDMI cable back and forth. This solved my exact need. Now the wife can watch TV as per normal and I can do so as well through my Xbox One without having to deal with anything extra or move any cables. TV looks just the same as normal and I've not had to touch the device once since setting it up. Very happy with the product so far!

Worked just as I hoped!
Ordered this item in hopes to split my xbox one signal between two tvs and it did that perfectly. I haven't messed around with anything else but I don't see why it wouldn't be able to split any other HDMI signal into two. No loss of image quality or lag to report. First attached image shows the item itself while the second shows the xbox signal split into my two TVs simultaneously. Edit: 6 months later, still works beautifully
