Betty Crocker BC-3711CMR 1.7L 1.7-Liter Cordless Jug Kettle, One Size, Red

Great looking design and specs made me consider purchasing it. We use the kettle about 5-10 times a day - we drink lots of tea... Over the past ~15 years we had several electric kettles - most did last between a few months, to max 2 years. We had more and less expensive kettles from known and some "exotic" brands, some survived a few months, some 2y and most of them started leaking sooner and later. We had some cheap ones that were rocking for 2-3 years. So buying an electric kettle is rather a gamble nowadays. This one popped up as one of the search results. It is not heavy, it turns off when the water reaches a boiling point ( WOW! - some don't - you should monitor the water boiling process when you purchase a new kettle for at least a few days), the water capacity is 1.7L advertised... but you can easily fit about ~0.2L ( 6-8oz ) more fluid without having it spilled during the boiling process - and that feature really cool. The handle is comfortable, the lid opens easily and refilling it is comfortable as well ( wide opening ). I hope I am not going to need to update this review anytime soon...Considering its price, design, look, and features I would recommend purchasing it. Good Luck everyone!

This jug heats up and is realy in no time. We use this in our camper, so we don't worry about it breaking. Plus it is a beautiful color.

The lid pops open which takes away the cut off function of kettle! I have to stay to turn off when water boils!

This is my 1st electric kettle and I'm very impressed and pleased with choosing this brand. Love the color as well as how fast the water boils. Plus the kettle stays warm for quite some time. Also you can purchase the filter replacements directly from the company with the order form included in the manual.

The media could not be loaded. It was beautifully finished, a bit lightweight but well made, boiled fine - all really good... except (as noted by many others) for the lid, which just wouldn't stay shut. See the video, just the slightest knock would make it pop open. Which, as it gently moves when boiling, means it's *always* open when boiling water unless you weigh it down somehow... thereby defeating the point of an opening lid. Such a shame. I cannot quite fathom how any product team sent this for review and got the answer "yep it's a good'un, make thousands of 'em". Returned.

Hot water in minutes. The outside is not hot at all. Love the red color as well. Very impressed!

I really, really, really like my new beautiful Betty Crocker red electric kettle! It works great and looks fabulous in my remodeled kitchen.

I have had this tea kettle around 9 months. At first the lid only popped open occasionally BUT now it is every time I use it. When it starts to boil the lid pops open. NOT safe with boiling water. For the first several months I really did not use the kettle very often. Recently I started to drink herbal tea instead of coffee so I now use the kettle every day. Very sad that this is happening. Money wasted.
