I am wondering if this is MK-4, MK-7, a mix or something else entirely?

I had to call NOW to find out. I thought it was MK-7 but found out that it was MK-4. Which is fine except you need to take more of MK-4 to get the benefits. They actually also sell a product that has MK-7 written on it. As they told me on the phone, their products are MK-4 unless specifically mentioned on the label. I am happy with NOW; I have confidence in their products.

i do not understand is why it says it alfalfa? is that literally all it is? just ground up alfalfa?? i see nothing to suggest other than alfalfa?

It does not just say alfalfa it says Vitamin C, Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone 4) and alfalfa powder. Alfalfa is a source of vitamins A, C, E, and K4; and minerals calcium, potassium, phosphorous, and iron.

Dr recommended 1000 mcg k2, but in reviewing MK-4 and MK-7 I think I need the MK-7. Haven't found it in 1000 mcg. Can you help? The NOW bottle that comes up on Amazon is not 1000, it is 100 mcg.

Just finished reading about vitamin K and all the different types from 'Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox'. Excellent book I must say. Your doctor must have been refering to MK-4 version of Vitamin K2 which has a half life of 1 hour i.e. you have 1/2 of amoun ingested after 1 hour, so you definitely need a lot. The MK-7 version of vitamin K2 has a much longer half life and hence you don't need as much. Today's medicare and doctors are extremely ignorant unfortunately.
