This is my second purchased of this Amber night light with dusk to dawn sensor. First comparing to other nightlights fancy and plane this one is perfect lighting. I have used purple 1 watt bulbs in my lamps in the past which had worked but we kept forgetting to turn the lamp off in the morning rush. Reading other comments about the low dim lighting, I found for us it worked out fine. The amount of lighting put out reminds me of the emergency lighting. Just enough to see the foot path to get you out of a building when power goes out (of course knowing those emergency lights are backed up by battery). Size is right for our outlet, easy to move place to place and the cost was satisfactory. Thank you Amazon for the fast delivery.

We got this in December and it is now February, so I've had time to come up with a solid review. I did not buy it for myself but my mother as a Christmas present. She has a hard time walking and seeing in the dark, and at night it can get DARK in her bedroom. Well, one night no one in the family remembered to turn the old nightlight on (to be fair, we usually *did* remember and had a perfect record going back years as far as I can recall), well in the dark she tripped and fell very hard and was very bruised, needless to say the situation upset her a bit. It also bother me a lot. So I went on Amazon to find a solution/Christmas present. So far very reliably, bright enough without being too bright to sleep. I actually love the color of hers (not bright white, the other white, I'm writing this from memory and to lazy to scroll up and look). It comes on easy, so easy that it is barely dark at all when it comes on. If I had to come up with a complaint, it is that the light comes on to quickly: it comes on before it is dark enough to be useful, so while it is way better at saving power than a traditional night light it could still be better (if only slightly). I still gave it five stars because saving power is a perk but it wasn't my goal, Mom's safety was and I am very happy about it.

This is THE BEST night light. It gives you the gentle amber glow, automatically turns on and off, and is our preferred night light that we bring for our kids when we travel. I've tried salt lamp ones but it is obnoxious to have to turn them on and off. This is a better fix.

Bright, but not too bright. The color is perfect for lighting our kitchen at night. We've bought the red version twice, which we love. They're not quite bright enough for our kitchen, though. Nice even lighting.

We’ve had these for over a year and they work great! I love the amber color as it’s less disruptive/alerting at night but it still gives enough light to see to navigate the house.

I love these little lights. I bought them 5 years ago and they are still going strong. They are bright enough to see where I’m going but dim enough to not wake me during my quick midnight bathroom breaks.

At this price point, there's a gamble with off-brand items on Amazon and eBay. Will the quality be at least "good enough" or will the device fail? In the worst situation, will it melt down or present a physical risk? Happily, I can say that the pair of these lights that I have are working with zero problems. My biggest concern was the internal power supply that takes outlet voltage and turns it into something appropriate for the low-voltage LEDs inside. I have had no issue so far, so I expect the electronics were properly designed. That is a relief. As far as functionality goes: The sensor that turns on the device as the room darkens does it's job well. The light is a gentle blue that will not blind you when waking in the middle of the night, yet is plenty bright enough to avoid the chairs in my 11x12' kitchen (my toes appreciate that!) The other light lives in the garage, which gets the full heat of Florida summers. Again, poorer built products can overheat in that closed area with the sun beating on the roof. The light works as well as the one in the A/C. I consider these to be above the quality that I'd expect from low-price market and recommend them. UPDATE: Some months later, the new ones work as well as the older ones I previously purchased. All remain in service, working fine. If I need more nightlighs, these are now my go-to choice.

A lot of people return this because I understand that this is not very bright light and that is why does not interrupt your sleep if you have it in your bathroom and you have to get up to take a leak. I like it a lot and I feel that when I get up at night for the bathroom it does not blind me and I'm using another one in my kid's room who recently started sleeping in the separate room. If you're looking for a dim light then this is it.

Our previous night light was blue which interfered with our sleep, this red light, though brighter is softer & so far has not disturbed us.
