National Geographic Kids Everything Vikings: All the Incredible Facts and Fierce Fun You Can Plunder

A perfect supplement to teaching about the middle ages! It has amazing pictures, amazing facts and is so much fun to read together! Our primary history curriculum is "Story of the World" and this is a perfect add-on for Volume 2. I don't usually buy extra books but this one is too fun not to get!

We did a Viking unit at school and this book was a favorite. It is visually appealing and had some fun information. The blurbs of information is in small cuncnks so it is not too imitating for new readers. It also isn’t cluttered with too much. The pictures are bright and crisp and I will be looking into others in this series.

Very simple to follow for kidsEasy to have them read

Introducing our little guy to a bit of Scandinavian history. Coupled with a Viking Playmobil set, it is a fun adventure.The book is well made, substantial glossy paper, short but interesting facts, and large colorful illustrations.The entire culture and history is effectively overviewed.

This is a really well made book with a lot of good info. Be warned it does start out slightly dark describing killing a raiding which I could have done without on page 1 of the book. I understand this is a lot of the reality of the Viking but I do think it could have been introduced a little more gently. However I am using this for a early elementary age child where this is probably targeted at an older audience.

Lovely book with lots of facts. Had to read it to my six year old so to read alone it is aimed at an older child but for understanding anywhere from 5+.

Gift for granddaughter

My son loves Vikings, and was immediately fascinated by this book. Colourful, with a lot of action pictures. When a child is this interested in a book, it is really a wonderful thing. My son is in Y1, so mostly I'll read this aloud to him, but he likes the book so much that he also does some reading with me supporting him.
