Great fix!
We had to replace our laser for an old Xbox 360. A little tweaking needed to be done to get it to work, but thankfully it was a success and all the games are working again!

Great replacement
Exactly the item I needed to fix my Xbox 360 that suddenly in October 2025 could not read games but could still read audio CDs. I replaced it and it worked. Still needed to remove solder and super glue a screw connecting this laser assembly to the drive shaft that moves it. Great replacement

Out of box unworking
Looked good outta the package until I ran a multimeter across it me measuring 1.82kw resistance which from what.i understand is far to low calibration straight outta factory..??? Suggested is definitely over three but between 4-6kw. Even after adjustment , no read. Adjustment , no read. And so on. Good thing I'm not out that much money but Xbox remains broken

Check for solder ball
It does work however it took the second laser.The first one a received already had the anti static ball removed. I tried it anyway but it was bad.Sent it back for another one and the second one had the solder ball. Removed it and it worked perfectly.

Laser works great with slight prep work
This was the second one that I received, and it also did not work initially. Sent the first one back for an exchange. Thought it strange that I would get two bad lasers so I troubleshot the second one. The lasers look identical except for one thing. On the new one there is a small blob of solder shorting out 3 circuit board contacts right next to the laser connector (sorry I didn't take pics). I assume this was done on purpose at the factory, and it was probably the problem with the first laser I received. Took a soldering iron and removed the blob of solder and the laser fired and worked perfectly. There are no instructions to do this. It was blind luck, but as always, it's better to be lucky than good. Hope this helps someone else out.
