Otstanding!
There are many knives and knife companies out there. Many produce top quality knives which are hand made using the very best steel. I have several special purpose tactical knives. All very good, but very expensive. I needed a well made, quality knife with a sturdy and reliable kydex sheath. I was looking at various boutique outlets online and found several knives that would've fit the bill. All over $150.00. One of my teammates overheard me discussing what I was looking for with a rep from one of the companies I called. After I hung up he came over and showed me his knife. It felt perfect in my hand. Very high quality piece. Has a heavy, robust, and rugged feel but not clumsy. The grips, made from carbon composite, look as though it would feel awkward clunky, but the look is deceiving. It feels very comfortable and provides sure and positive grip. I fell in love with the piece. I asked him where he purchased it and how much. Expecting him to say that he got it from some high end maker for $150 or $200, I was shocked when he said he purchased it from Amazon for $31.00!!! As I said, I have some pretty high quality knives that were fairly expensive. I would trade them all in for this Schrade SCHF 14. I immediately purchased two. I use them exclusively. This is an outstanding knife for an unbelievable price. You need to jump on these before the company gets any wiser and prices them out of reach. Comes in a nice box, with a great kydex form fitted retention sheath that is equipped with a removable 1 1/2 inch belt loop. But be careful! It is razor sharp out of the box.

Exactly what I wanted!
I was looking for a tough, well made knife for everyday carry, that wouldn't break the bank. Boy did I find it in this knife! It is heavy enough that it feels like a stout, indestructible tool in the hand, yet it is compact enough that I can wear it all day and no one notices it's there. The sheath is a little sloppier than I'd like, but still fairly secure. A little tweaking with a heat gun should fix what ails it. Mine came with a so-so edge, but just a few passes over the diamond stone whipped it right into shape. The finish suggests "antique," much like the patina on an old, well used tool. While the finish is very attractive, it also acts as a non-reflective coating. If you held a gun to my head and told me to pick something to not like about this knife, I'd have to pick the sheath. I really like "Kydex," plastic, or whatever it is made out of. While I like the height at which this sheath rides overall, I would prefer it to ride a little higher...or accommodate a wider belt. It easily slides over many of my belts, but it does not accommodate wear on or with my duty belt, which is a bummer. That said, the sheath can be configured for horizontal and vertical carry, and if you are willing to drill a hole or two in the belt slide platform, diagonal wear is also possible. There you go, I love this knife!

Yes- again
Schrade has produced some very nice knives and at reasonable prices too. This particular on his a crappier chinese steel, keeping the price low, but is built to thicker than average SS folder knives. Thus far it has held up well to my abuse (about 1 month at this time). What I Like: The knife and handle design. Sturdy. Available is a variety of sizes for different hands.Dont like: Shealth is molded plastic. Holds knife well, but doesn't attached comfortable to person. If Schrade would upgrade their health design, and keep the cost increase under 10$--- then this would be a 5 start knife all day. The 1 star off is due to the sheath.

An Old Name - A New Line of Knives
I was looking for a strong fixed blade to replace my $150.00 folder that failed me. The weak link to ANY folder is the locking mechanism. Mine failed after a few years and nearly cut off my little finger. Some 33 stitches later, I moved to a fixed blade with sheath for multi purpose everyday carry. I had tried many and found that they were uncomfortable to wear as they jabbed you at every move or when seated. Others were too costly to consider slicing a log into kindling. This Schrade is a very strong tool that I have worn and used everyday since it arrived. It is comfortable to wear and sit with. Easy to draw from its Kydex-like sheath. Has a dull finish that does not draw attention to itself. It is legal in length to carry in all 50 states and I personally like the NON- serrated blade. Much more useful in a survival/camping/hiking woodsy atmosphere, yet still strong enough to be called upon for self defense.Out of the box it was sharp enough, but ten strokes on some stones and it became a razor. At this price you can use it and maybe even abuse it and not feel too guilty in doing so. I love this knife for its strength and versatility. Schrade came a long way in their product changes. Highly recommend.

Quality, reliable knife
This is a great knife with a very well made sheath. I'll carry this with me when I go camping as my solid every use fixed blade. It's sturdy and fits really well in the hand. The blade holds an edge very well and doesn't need much sharpening in the field. It's such a sharp blade that I'll typically clean it off and use it to prepare food as well. The paracord hole on the bottom is a nice touch, though I don't use it much. I could see it being especially useful to tie to knife to a stick to make a spear. The blade isn't quite long enough to baton with and isn't quite heavy enough to chop with, but works well for most other tasks. The sheath holds the knife very well, and the adjustable belt clip is convenient. The knife stays in the sheath very securely, and I would have no problem with hanging it upside down and going for a long hike, feeling confident that it won't accidentally slide out. I think the blade is small enough to use as an EDC in lot of places, though the sheath makes it stand out a bit. It would be nice if it came with a 2nd belt clip of a different shape for some extra holding options, but it has a lot of variability as is. When I first got it, I spent most of that evening testing out the different ways of mounting it on my person. I highly recommend this knife.
