Worth it's weight in gold - how did I manage without this little gem!
I've been waiting for a full hip replacement for at least 5 years now and I have struggled to mow the lawn for the last year but pushed through the pain until I can't cope any more.I had no idea robotic lawnmowers existed until i googled (good old Google!) automatic hoovers and it bought lawnmowers up to, bingo!!!After looking at countless different ones this little gem of a mower came up top trumps with the sheer amount of amazing reviews it had all over the Internet and the fact so many people said it worked great on lumpy bumpy and sloping gardens!I highly recommend this little super star as its so easy to set up and use so don't be daunted by the set up of the boundary wire or how to program it, its so easy!I put the little beast on charge while I put the boundary wire down so it was ready to rock and roll when I'd finished!Like many reviews say, you don't need to leave 30cm between the edge and the wire as that's being too cautious and leaves more to have to be strimmed, I left it at about 20cm and have adjusted along the way where I can see it can go closer.I did like the instructions said and made detours to trees and put the wire round and back to the outer edge again but I have since realised I'd have been better off not to have taken the wire round them as the mower leaves quite a gap round them so i have put the wire right up close to the trees now as I didn't want to have to cut the wire to remove it and reconnect back at the boundary. The mower is clever enough to know that if it touches an object it will stop and turn round and it does get much closer to the trees without putting the wire round them.Robin (that's what it had been named to due autocorrect changing robot to Robin!) trundles round the garden with ease making no issue of the slope or bumps whatsoever and when he needs to recharge his batteries (don't we all!) he trundles back to his docking station, recharges and off he goes again until his shift is over for the day.I have let Robin mow the lawn and do his own thing for two weeks now and I have absolutely no negative comments whatsoever....apart from the fact its so addictive to watch!!!The rain sensor is brilliant in that if it starts to rain he will trundle back to his docking station to have a duvet day for the remainder of the day and will start mowing again the next day.Just as a disclaimer I don't let my dog in the garden with Robin unsupervised (even though they get on and share the garden like best friends!) just in case Robin decides Riley might need a hair cut as he doesn't have a sensor to warn pets to move away unlike some more expensive models do but to be honest you can let Robin mow the lawn at whatever rime you set him off and he will be done 4, 6 or 8 hours later depending on what time you think is best for your size of garden. It is extremely quiet so you could even set it to mow overnight without annoying our neighbours and you and your pooch wake up to a perfectly manicured lawn!Oh and just in case you are wondering the grass is mulched so is put back onto the lawn (which I have read is very good for your lawn!) and you don't even notice as its such tiny bits of grass, it's almost as if it vanishes like magic! This doesn't have an app to manage it like some do but to be honest I don't feel it needs one as it's so simple and easy to use. You just start the mower going and it will set itself off at the same time every day, or every other day. I run it for 4 hours every day in the afternoon so it trundles round and is finished when I finished work.I honestly can't recommend this little beauty highly enough!Oh yes and one more tip that I found helpful in other reviews is that when you are laying the boundary wire it needs to be run anticlockwise round the garden starting at the charging end of the docking Station and the wire starting at that end needs to be connected into the red connection point, the wire that you feed under the docking station to connect in at the charging end needs to go into the black connection, if you get it the wrong way round you will confuse the poor thing and it won't work!Happy sitting in your garden watching mesmerised by your mower working its magic!

Simple, effective and excellent value for money
The media could not be loaded. The Lawnmaster L10 is as simple a robot mower that you can buy. The manufacturers have stripped its functionality down to the very minimum. As a result, it is super simple to use but does the job very effectively. Before I review the robot, I ought to say that it was replacing a previously installed Flymo 1200r that had worked pretty effectively for 8 years. Some of the issues that we have had to overcome are a result of trying to use the 1200r boundary wire as the new boundary wire for the L10. In short, that caused a lot of problems, which I will try to explain. The L10 uses a single boundary wire to both mark its territory and find its way (anti-clockwise) back to the base station. The 1200r simply used the boundary wire as its edge marker, and needed a separate guide wire to find its way home. In short, I had laid the 1200r boundary too close to hedges and lawn edges. When the L10 attempted to straddle the boundary wire to find its way home, it hit the hedge/bush/tree/edge and couldn’t get past. This required me to splice into the existing wire and lay a new boundary wire the recommended 30cm in from the actual edge. This doesn’t change how effective the cut is, but it did mean a lot of splicing. I think I replaced about 40% of the old boundary wire and it took some trial and error. You may decide to simply lay a whole new wire that adheres to the LawnMaster spec. I persevered and now have a hybrid of 1200r and L10 boundary wire that works. The L10 uses random walk to cut your lawn, placing the cuttings back on the surface to mulch. It’s very manoeuvrable, so does a good job of bumping into things, reversing and extracting itself from tight corners. Trial and error is required for spots it has trouble with, but our experience is that its much less prone to getting trapped than the 1200r was. A few observations and quibbles where we have found them:- It will start its daily routine at the time you switched it on with its main power switch. If you want it to start its day at 7am, for example, you are going to have to get up at that time and flick the switch. Should you ever switch it off again, you’ll need to get up early again to re-start. (The 1200r had a programmable timer, this is one of the costs of the simpler L10 design).- There is no “manual” mode like the 1200r. If you need to pick up and place the L10 on a secondary isolated piece of lawn, the L10 will still try to follow its boundary wire home. This will mean it will get stuck on any lawn that is an “island” (yet still connected via a narrow boundary wire). Not a great problem, however,- If, like us, you have one of these “island” lawns, and the mower tries to follow the boundary wire into it, it will get stuck at the narrow entrance. This is hard to explain without diagrams, but those of you with such an island second lawn will understand what I mean. If you’ve just got a single, contiguous, lawn, this won’t be a problem.- The L10 has a rain sensor and won’t go out it its wet. I am slightly tempted to cover this sensor up (the 1200r didn’t care if it was raining). However, I’ve left it for now.- My lawn is pretty bumpy, but level. The L10 doesn’t have any problem with the bumps, but I can’t speak to how it performs on slopes. On the whole, the L10 is performing better than the very old 1200r ever did. It more reliably returns to its base station and provides a really neat finish to the lawn. It also looks like one of the motorbikes from Tron, which is geeky and cool.Recommended, and at the price, a super investment.

Awful Customer Service
This little mower works well and keeps my grass tidy and neat. However, I have had a couple of issues with it resulting in me having to exchange my mower for a new one but getting hold of anyone from the customer service dept is almost impossible. Any email correspondence takes several weeks to elicit a supply and that occurs with every interaction, even once you have established a complaint and received a tracking number any subsequent emails remain unanswered or weeks on end. It is such a shame as the mower does a good job.
