Nancy Janes Stacking Planters P1361 Stone Color Planter, 12", Stone

I bought this to plant my outdoor herbs in this summer and I love the three tiers! Looks beautiful on my porch! Assembled in less than 5 minutes and holds more than you think!

I just got this today and used it for some herb plants I bought. It was easy to assemble (I didn't opt for the hanging version) and it looks nice on my patio. Perfect for small apartments with little patio/balcony space.

This planter is great. So many different plants I put in this. All beautiful and growing nicely.

uneven watering - plants on bottom too wet, plants on top dry. Also, if you stack to units together as suggested, it is very unstable. Plants strawberries in these last year, will have to replant this year. Had to daily or every other day give extra water to each plant. Had drip system at top but plants on bottom were soaked and plants on top dying. used microgrow potting mix so don't think it was a dirt type problem. Water just doesn't get to side planting areas. water just goes straight down.

I bought two. One for me, one for my grand kids. For the kids I only used two trays. I put both on 12-inch rod iron stands to get them off the ground. So far I’m very happy with them. I planted strawberry plants in all. The plants at my home as well as my grand kids’ home. They are doing fine.

I ordered this in stone and as you can see I got it in black I preferred the stone color which is why I paid more for this one than another listing to get stone. But it did have a good quality of holes and drainage in the bottom of the pot so I decided to keep it. It was easy to put together. I do wish it was a little deeper as you can see the roots on my strawberry plants stretched a little deeper than the pots but hopefully with more room to spread out they will be ok. Would have been a 5 star review if I got the color I ordered.

I love this planter! I was sooo close to giving this item 5 stars, but I do have one tiny complaint. These styles of vertical stacking pots are usually designed so you water the top one, and let it soak through the bottom layers as it drains. It does in fact do this, but not very well, I recommend just watering all the sections individually (which is by no means a big deal or hassle). I planted from a mixed seed bag that contains red/green kale, arugula, red/green lettuce, and swiss chard. Now for the awesome part, I checked today and the seeds I planted only two days ago, that's right 48 HOURS, are now healthy little sprouts in 4 of the 9 spots that I planted in. I can't wait till the whole thing looks like a gigantic fancy salad :)

The containers were sturdy enough and not flimsy as feared. However, there was no chain included, which was in the description, nor any instructions. I had bought started plants and found it a little challenging to plant herbs that already had a root base. Space seems limited but I got them in. We will see how well they grow. Full disclosure, I immediately ordered another set when I saw how sturdy the containers were.

The first one came with no instructions and no hanging chain. I returned it for a replacement. The replacement came without the same items. No instructions was no big deal as it is obvious how to assemble it. The chain would have been nice so I could hang it. I am not sending it back again.

It is hard to keep the top tray moistened as it all drains down to the bottom tray. the top needs watering all the time.
