Perfect for indoor herbs
This is a pretty cool idea and I like the fact they are plastic. It goes together easily and really holds a lot of dirt. As others have stated, you will need a substantial anchor in the ceiling or where ever you plan to put it, inside or out. I don't like how the chain is designed or held in place but it sure does hold a lot of potting mix. It is truly a great deal for the cost. Growing herbs is what I use them for at home and at the cottage at the beach. A slick idea that keeps your plants in a year long setting without having to transplant outside. I would not grow mint in it because it will take over the whole pot if not kept in check!

Stackable it is. hangable?????
The Mini-Garden Stacker arrived on time and was easy to assemble. However, when filled with dirt, is too heavy to hang. The center area of the Mini-Garden fills with dirt but is totally unusable because the stacking trays cover the dirt. I could barley lift the Mini-Garden once my succulents were planted. When I finally got it up on the Shepard Hook the hook couldn't sustain the weight. I staked the hook and counter balanced it, but the next morning the hook was bent to a 45 degree angle and the Mini Garden was on the ground. The Hanging Mini-Garden is now sitting on the ground with the change hanging over the edge. You can't get the chain out without taking the entire garden apart because it comes up from the bottom. That being said, if you plan to hang this plan on hanging from the corner of a building, a tall tree or a VERY substantial post. It definitely doesn't work any other way. I was disappointed because I was so looking forward to making that a new focal point in my garden.

It's okay to get herbs started. The plants had to be transplanted fairly quickly because the planters aren't very deep. the roots needed to go somewhere. Also, my original intention was to keep them stacked (to save room) but found I needed to keep them separated so each one could get enough light. This also means I had to go out and purchase additional plastic drip trays. Not using them now.

Great, not perfect
It's a great concept but it's not good for plants that don't require a lot of water. The top grows great! Unfortunately the two stacke below seems to be getting way too much water. So instead of herbs, I'm going to put a water hungry plant in there like strawberries.

Long lasting
I bought mine because the clay strawberry pot I used to plant my herbs in chipped away, and I figured plastic would be better. The plants haven't grown quite as well, but I have them on a table on the patio and it does the job.

Directions Please!
I really would have loved some instructions on how to use this planter. Thankfully, the stackable planter parts were easy to put together. But I would have liked to know where to plant certain herbs for the best production. So far, my herbs are growing well.

No instructions and no photo?
Well, not put together yet, as no instructions included. I build my own home myself and a blueprint, so I'm sure my grandkids will get it together as soon as they visit.one reviewer said start with the smalest tier at the base. Thanks as I'm sure that will help when time to assemble.

Perfect for herbs
I bought all three sizes. I used this one to plant herbs in. Its the perfect size. They go together easily and are the last addition to our garden. We have limited space and these are great.
