So much easier.
This was much better looking and easier to install than traditional means. Seems to fit more sturdy than my last set of handrails in my house. Will update performance if it changes in the future.

Staircase made easier
Makes anchoring oak stair rails and post together a whole heck of a lot easier and faster. I very much recommend and will be using them from now on on all my stair projects

Overall the Zipbolt fastening systems are all great products!
I found these products well designed, functional and easy to install. I used the 11.560 angled rail bolt, 13.960 angled slipfix rail bolt, and the 13.810 slipfix rail bolts for my balcony and staircase project. I did have two issues, one with your packaging and the other with the locking cam. All packages came with a product skew tagged over part of the instructions. The easy fix was to download the installation guide from your website. Also had an issue with one of the nuts on one of the locking cams. It did not want to accept the threaded rail bolt, which kept the rail bolt from retracting enough to clear the keyhole disc, so i could set the rail. Thankfully I had enough spare parts in my order to make another cam work. Lastly, read the instructions completely, take notice of the tips in bold print, and fully understand each step as they do a good job guiding you through the process. Overall, the Zipbolt fastening systems are all great products and i would use them on future projects.

Solid Anchor for railing
I was skeptical on how well it would work, followed instructions and got a solid connection. I'll certainly look to this for my next challenging connection project.

Work Well
I've received these and other ZIPBOLT items and the they actually work very well. But in each case somebody put barcode stickers over important instructions. The person who authorized that gets a zero star rating.

Lefty tighty
Is it common knowledge to turn the screw the opposite way with these kinds of bolts!? I didn’t know! No wonder people strip these guys. Righty loosey, lefty tighty. It took all day to install my small railing, but this product worked for both the upper and lower attachment. I went slow and read all the instructions many times. I did not buy the drill guide, I just used a Forster drill bit, tape measure, and speed square.I also cut the angle on my railing before I got this (it says in big bold letters not to), so I taped on a leftover piece of railing to square off the end to get my measurements right.Note that if you use it for the lower baluster attachment, you ADD 3mm instead of subtract for the end of step 2. I need my railing to be removable which is why I used this for top and bottom.

Weak, expensive, and unnecessary
I liked the concept of these at first. However, after one installation I was disappointed. The gear drive stripped long before the handrail/newel connection was tight. I ended up using the standard rail bolt kits for my lower handrail connections and found some longer rail bolts on Amazon that worked very well for the upper connections. You still drill a 1” hole in the bottom of the handrail and can fit a small 12-point wrench in there to tighten. MUCH tighter connection, only a fraction of the cost, and in my opinion easier to install.
